Serveertip 1 : Karafferen  - Zeker 2 uren op voorhand karafferen ! Door de wijn veel lucht te geven worden de tannines versneld zachter. Karafferen gaat zo: schenk de wijn over in een ruime karaf zodat de wijn goed in contact komt met zuurstof. De aroma's komen zo mooi 'los' en de wijn 'geeft' zich beter.

 

Serveertip 2 : Decanteren doe je om wijn te scheiden van het bezinksel. Decanteren is niet moeilijk: zet om te beginnen de fles wijn rechtop zodat het bezinksel naar de bodem van de fles kan dalen. Ontkurk de fles. Hou de hals bij het uitschenken boven een lichtbron, dan zie je precies wanneer het bezinksel begint mee te komen. Laat de wijn voorzichtig in een brandschone karaf vloeien. Decanteer rustig en met vaste hand en gebruik indien nodig een zeefje. Het mogelijke bezinksel is hier een kwaliteitspunt aangezien de wijn niet gefilterd is en al het beste van de druif in de wijn zit.
