Een kettingpons is een gereedschap waarmee een fietsketting op de juiste lengte kan worden gebracht.
Met behulp van een kettingpons kan een pen in de ketting geheel of gedeeltelijk uit- of ingedraaid worden om de ketting van het juiste aantal schakels te voorzien. De kettingpons is daartoe uitgerust met een drukstift die een kleinere diameter heeft dan de pen in de ketting. De stift is bevestigd aan een schroefmechaniek zodat de stift uit- of ingedraaid kan worden.
Om een pen uit de ketting te kunnen drukken, wordt de ketting zodanig in de kettingpons gelegd dat die in de daartoe bestemde nok(ken) valt en de pen met de stift in een lijn komen te liggen. Met het uitdraaien van de stift zal de pen vervolgens door de stift steeds verder uit de ketting worden gedrukt.
Het sluiten van de ketting is afhankelijk van het type fietsketting. Sommige kettingen kunnen weer gesloten worden door met de kettingpons een bestaande en niet geheel uitgedrukte pen terug te drukken met de kettingpons. Bij andere kettingen dient de pen geheel uitgedrukt te worden met de kettingpons, waarna een speciale pen gebruikt dient te worden om de ketting weer te sluiten. Tevens bestaan er speciale sluitschakels die zonder kettingpons de ketting kunnen sluiten.

Smells too strong

My dog hates the way this thing smells. She tries to play with it, but the scent is too strong for her nose. I know it's the scent because she usually sniffs it two or three times in between trying to grab it with her mouth. She treats it like an explosive in her mouth and quickly moves away after spitting it out.
She used to have a bone that looked similar to this (same material) that was unscented and she gnawed the hell out of it. My sister's pitbull spent the night and chewed that toy into bits, leaving my Yorkie mourning the loss of her once treasured bone.
Please make an UNSCENTED version of this toy!!!!

Bought this because of other positive reviews. It does hold up to an aggressive chewer but the pieces are sharp once it’s “broken in”. I bought the circular one as I figured that one would be less likely to break. It is still good after about 6 weeks.

My dog didn’t take to it, but yours might.

This is a very durable toy that’s reasonably priced. For some reason, my dog didn’t take to it. It might be the round shape, but there’s nothing wrong with the product. The size is good for large dogs. My dog is 50 pounds and there’s a chance it was too big for him. I’m not sure. But I think if your dog has enjoyed other similar toys, this is a good buy.
