Anselmi is een van de beste en belangrijkste wijnmakerijen in de Soave-regio. Nadat Roberto Anselmi de wijnmakerij van zijn vader had overgenomen, begon hij onmiddellijk consistente maatregelen te nemen om de kwaliteit te verbeteren. Sinds de vintage van 1999 heeft hij besloten zijn wijnen niet de oorsprongsbenaming "Soave" te geven. "San Vincenzo", "Capitel Foscarino" en "Capitel Croce" zijn vandaag de wijnen die Anselmi wereldwijd een grote reputatie hebben bezorgd.Een wijn met kracht en rijkdom
Voor deze wijn worden 90 procent Garganega en 10 procent Chardonnay samen gevinifieerd. De druiven hiervoor groeien in de Capitel Foscarino wijngaard, waar Anselmi tien hectare bezit. De grond is kalkhoudend en van vulkanische oorsprong, de wijngaarden liggen op de heuvels in de regio rond Soave, op ongeveer 350 meter boven zeeniveau. De druiven worden rigoureus met de hand geoogst. De selectie is streng en vindt daarom twee keer plaats. De druiven voor deze wijn zijn altijd zeer rijp en leveren dan ook een wijn op met kracht en rijkdom. Na een korte maceratie wordt de most langzaam gefermenteerd met zijn eigen gist bij gecontroleerde lage temperaturen. De wijn wordt vervolgens zes maanden gerijpt in roestvrijstalen tanks. En het resultaat mag er zijn. De wijn kleurt goudgeel in het glas en in de geur aroma’s van appel, citrus en perzik. Op de achtergrond merken we ook een lichte kruidige noot op. De smaak van deze witte wijn is zacht en rond, de structuur romig, gedragen door een fijne zuurgraad. Verder is deze witte wijn van Anselmi vol, met wat bitter in de afdronk, die lang en complex is.Shipping Notes

Hardy the poet
Format: Paperback
We all know Hardy the novelist, but perhaps he is less well known as a poet. In this volume of over 900 pages, with nearly 1,000 poems, Hardy is colorful, chatty, direct, lyrical, thoughtful, deep. And perhaps his finest quality - at least so I find - is the fact that he is down-to-earth. His poems are not "difficult" for a reasonably literate, experienced reader; and the rhyming is never forced. In short, his poems are a delight.

The other side of one of the giants of the Victorian era.
Format: Paperback
Thomas Hardy is my favorite novelist who has ever lived. I preface the review of this poetry anthology - which includes every one of the 900+ poems he wrote throughout his life, from the 1860s to just before his death in 1928 - in this way because I’m a bit biased. Hardy’s poetry is technically satisfying and nearly as moving as his novels, and you can tell that the same precision he brought to prose is on full display in his verse. I’m working my way through every single poem in this collection, and thus far my favorites are “The Convergence of the Twain” and “After the Last Breath.” There are other poets whose works I like better (Dickinson, Yeats, Wordsworth, and Whitman come to mind), but as an amateur Hardy scholar, reading this collection is positively invaluable to understand the full depth of his genius, and as always Wordsworth Classics delivers in terms of a quality paperback that should withstand years of enjoyment. I own many of their releases and have yet to find one that even slightly disappoints.
