Deze cultivar is een Amerikaanse selectie die lijkt op de cultivars 'Schwedleri' en 'Deborah' . De opgaande ovale kroon blijft echter smaller en groeit meer opgaand. 'Fairview' kan een hoogte van circa 20 meter bereiken. Het blad loopt roodachtig / purper uit maar wordt later in het seizoen groen-bronskleurig. Acer platanoides 'Fairview' of Noorse esdoorn 'Fairview' stelt weinig eisen aan de grond, maar verdraagt geen stagnerend grondwater. De boom is goed windbestendig en wordt regelmatig toegepast als laan- en straatboom.
