Nederlandse wollen AaBe x Knitwit plaid van Kempisch Heideschaap

De AaBe deken staat al sinds 1929 symbool voor warmte en Nederlandse degelijkheid. In samenwerking met De Wassum blaast Stichting The Knitwit Stable deze iconische vintage deken nieuw leven in, met respect voor natuur, vakmanschap en traditie.

Naast de deken hebben we ook een plaid ontwikkeld.

Transparant productieproces

De AaBe x Knitwit plaid is gesponnen met wol van Kempische Heideschapen. Kempische Heideschapen, met hun dikke, wollige vachten, zijn meer dan gewone grazers; ze zijn de stille beschermers van het natuurlandschap. Grazen zorgt ervoor dat de heide grasrijk en vitaal blijft en dat jonge bomen kort blijven. In hun vacht verspreiden de schapen zaden van uitgebloeide kruiden naar nieuwe groeiplaatsen, en hun mest stimuleert het bodemleven. Daarmee spelen Kempische Heideschapen een cruciale rol in het behoud van de natuurlijke balans in waardevolle natuurgebieden. Om de plaid uiteindelijk te maken, trok The Knitwit Stable Europa in. In een authentieke dekenfabriek van een familie in Noord-Italië is de plaid met zorgvuldig vakmanschap in elkaar gezet. Gesponnen met wol van de Kempische heideschapen, lieten we de plaid ongeverfd, in haar natuurlijke kleur. Aan het einde van haar lange levensduur kan de AaBe x Knitwit plaid haar natuurlijke cyclus weer vervolgen, als voeding voor de bodem.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
