Zenko Primitivo di Manduria 2024 is een volle rode wijn uit Manduria in Puglia, gemaakt van 100% Primitivo door het gerenommeerde wijnhuis Fantini.

Wat betekent Primitivo di Manduria eigenlijk? Het is een beschermde herkomstbenaming uit Zuid-Italië die bekendstaat om krachtige, rijpe en geconcentreerde Primitivo-wijnen met zachte structuur. Deze cuvée laat zien hoe rijp fruit en subtiele houtrijping samenkomen in een toegankelijke maar gelaagde stijl.

Wijngaarden en regio

De wijn is afkomstig uit Manduria in Puglia, een van de warmste en meest zonovergoten delen van Zuid-Italië

  • Regio: Manduria, het hart van Primitivo di Manduria DOC.

  • Bodem: Klei- en kalksteenbodems die zorgen voor structuur en complexiteit

  • Klimaat: Warme, droge zomers die optimale rijpheid en concentratie bevorderen.

De combinatie van zonintensiteit en kalkrijke ondergrond geeft de wijn zijn krachtige karakter en rijpe stijl.

Vinificatie en rijping

Na de vinificatie rijpt de wijn kort op barriques, wat zorgt voor verfijning zonder het fruit te overheersen

  • Rijping: Korte rijping op barriques voor zachte tannines en subtiele kruidigheid.

  • Alcohol: Met 14% alcohol heeft de wijn voldoende body om zijn volle stijl te ondersteunen

De houtrijping voegt rondheid en lichte tonen van vanille toe, terwijl de rijpe fruitexpressie centraal blijft staan.

Druivensamenstelling

Primitivo – Manduria
100% Primitivo afkomstig uit Manduria. Deze druif staat bekend om zijn rijpe fruittonen, zachte tannines en volle structuur.

Proefnotities en serveertips

In het glas toont de wijn een diepe robijnrode kleur. De neus opent met aroma’s van rijpe kersen, pruimen en bramen, aangevuld met tonen van chocolade en vanille.

In de mond is hij vol en rond met zachte tannines en een aangename kruidigheid. De afdronk is lang en soepel.

  • Serveertemperatuur: Drink deze Primitivo bij voorkeur rond 16–18 °C zodat het rijpe fruit en de kruidige houttonen mooi in balans blijven.

  • Gerechten: Combineert uitstekend met rood vlees, wildgerechten, gegrilde groenten of rijpe kazen.

I love this item. The size is perfect, as I prefer something less bulky for my work desktop. It isn't as fancy as others that has the digital display screen, which is fine by me, because I don't necessarily need that. The knob and different colors that indicate the temperature range works fine. The temperature on this thing works fantastically well for me. Using it on the lowest setting keeps my drink nice and hot in a cold office. I use a heatproof glass teapot with this and its a good fit. It keeps my tea hot throughout the day, so I am able to pour smaller amounts of drink and take my time sipping it throughout the day without worrying that it will get cold. At point I almost forgot that it has an automatic shut-off safety feature when I noticed it was off. So that is a good feature to have. I highly recommend this.

Requires a very specific mug to be useful.

The hotplate itself gets hot enough on its highest setting where it would burn your finger if you left it one there for more then a couple seconds. However when it come to what mug you can use to transfer that heat to your drink, this WILL NOT work with just any old ceramic, metal or glass mugs. You absolutely need to have a perfectly flat bottom on it. If the center of the bottom of the mug does not make direct contact with the very center of the warmer, it will not transfer heat. So straight way plan of spending another $15 to $20. Amazon has some available with good reviews all be it not a very big selection. I'm giving this 4 stars because the description needs to be very clear about this and its not.

I purchased the gold/black mug warmer. I always spend a good about of money for great coffee products and I take my time to perfect my coffee for my mornings at work. This warmer is just amazing. I tend to nurse a mug of tea from morning to night. This warmer has three different temperatures. I always start out at the high 167 but as I drink my tea and there’s less than a cup, I drop it to 149, and when it gets lower, I can drop it to 131. Keeps it at the right temperature all day long. One of the other things I love about it is that if I leave and forget that I still had some tea sitting there, it turns itself off after four hours. It is so convenient to use because you don’t have to turn it on or off. You just set your cup down on it and it automatically returns to the last temperature you used. I bought my first one in 2021 and now have five of them. I keep one in my bedroom, one in my family room for when I’m watching TV, one at my office desk, one at my partner‘s desk in his man cave, and one in the camper. I’ve tried many different brands and styles in the past and I can assure you this is the best. Enjoy.
