Bij het tot stand komen van dit puppyboekje zijn we uitgegaan van de vele vragen, die iedere eigenaar had toen hij of zij de eerste pup kreeg. Het kan behoorlijk tegenvallen om een pup groot te brengen en om zo’n hummeltje manieren te leren. Daar gaat veel tijd in zitten, maar je krijgt er veel voor terug!

Vele vragen uit de praktijk en ervaringen van leden van de NVSW hebben een rol gespeeld bij het samenstellen van deze handleiding.

Alles over het opvoeden van uw Stabij- of Wetterhounpup, daar moet u als baasje tijd in steken. De hond heeft recht op deze intensieve aandacht. Door het in huis nemen van een pup, die alles nog moet leren, neemt u ook een grote verantwoordelijkheid op zich.

Het eerste jaar is de belangrijkste periode om van de pup een fijne gehoorzame hond te maken. De extra tijd die u in deze periode aan de hond geeft, betaalt zich later dubbel en dwars terug.

Successfully bridging the gap between Bible Study Guide and Graduate level hermeneutics

As the tag line of my review suggests, this book is more than just another Bible study guide, but not a Graduate level text on hermeneutics. That is the stated goal of the authors, and I do believe they achieved that goal very successfully. I am not a trained theologian. I am just a Christian layman who wants to understand how to properly interpret the Word of God, using a systematic approach that is consistent and faithful to the Reformed Protestant traditions. This book is helping me get there, as long as I am ready to put in the work that comes with the content. I'll let the authors themselves describe what they mean by that... "Plunging into the Word of God is similar to sitting down at a meal. We expect to eat something nourishing, something substantial, and something appropriate to our maturity level. We want to dig into the real meat. But often we are able only to come up with baby food—soft mush for infants. This is not a reflection on the Word of God, which is loaded with meat, but rather a reflection on us and our inability to extract the meat and enjoy it. Indeed, some Christians have become so accustomed to baby food that they no longer desire the stronger food. What about you? Do you long to dig deeper into God’s Word?
