Onze uienzeefjes hebben een geschiedenis: jarenlang werden ze in Nederland gebruikt als bloembollenzeefjes of voor het bewaren van groente en fruit. Ze zijn verweerd, maar nog steeds in goede staat. We hebben deze rustieke uienzeefjes bewust onbehandeld gelaten, omdat ze in hun originele staat, compleet met de afdruk van hun gebruiksplek, een bijzondere charme uitstralen.

Sommige zijn dan ook tientallen jaren oud, en natuurlijk heeft de tand des tijds zijn tol geëist van deze unieke parels. Maar dat is precies wat elke uienzeef uniek en bijzonder maakt.

Wij reinigen de uienzeven aan de buitenkant met een borstel en perslucht, maar lichte vervuiling kan toch nog voorkomen.

De houten kratten zijn ideaal voor het bewaren van fruit, groenten en natuurlijk uien. Met een beetje fantasie kun je al onze uienzeefjes omtoveren tot een prachtig decoratief object. De zeef is 75 x 51 x 9 centimeter groot en weegt 3,2 kilogram. De gaten in het stalen gaas zijn 4 x 4 mm.
