Originally released 21 May 1980, The Empire Strikes Back: Symphonic Suite from the Original Motion Picture Score presented selections of composer John Williams’ music for STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, which had premiered in theatres justtwo days before. Performed by The National Philharmonic Orchestra underthe baton of conductor Charles Gerhardt,the one-disc record was intended to supplement – not compete with – the “official” two-record soundtrack released one month earlier by RSO Records. This album consists ofthe Concert Suite from THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (The Imperial March, Han Solo and the Princess, Yoda's Theme, and The Asteroid Field), supplemented by several other cues from the film score, including Alfred Newman's Fox Fanfare, plus Maestro Williams’ Main Title/The Imperial Probe, and Training of a Jedi Knight. To avoid repetition of familiar material, Williams, conductor Charles Gerhardt, and producer George Korngold (son of composer Erich Korngold, one of Williams’ musical heroes) presented new arrangements and orchestrations, performed by 96-member National Symphonic Orchestra.Shipping Notes

Both my children (8 &10) loved this series. And because it wasn’t clear to us at first, the blue book is the 1st in the series. The red one is the 2nd.

Great graphic novel for 2nd/3rd grade

My 8 1/2 year old loves graphic novels so we’re always on the hunt for more. She loved this (has read it twice already) and is excited to read the next book in the series.

Magic, Fantasy & Adventure
Format: Paperback
Aster is upset at having to leave the city and move to the mountains for her mom’s job. She’s quickly bored and very reluctantly ventures outside and only because her dad makes her. She soon finds out they’re living in a valley full of magic. With a talking dog named Buzz, a Trickster called Rapscallion and the tiny Chestnut Knights just to name a few of the wacky characters, middle-grade readers will find plenty to like in this action packed novel. There are two Aster adventures contained in this first volume. It’s a winsomely illustrated graphic novel, tailor-made for children who love magic, fantasy and adventure stories.
