Hoe wordt het product gemaakt?
Suntory Toki wordt geproduceerd met grain whisky van Chita distillery en malt whisky van Hakushu en Yamazaki distillery. De blend volgt een two-pillar concept, waarbij malt en grain een gelijkwaardige rol spelen. Mike Miyamoto, global brand ambassador van Suntory, licht toe: "Usually grain plays the base in a blend, it's always the unsung hero. But for Toki we took a different approach, we thought let's have a two-pillar concept with as much focus on malt as grain, rather than a pyramid concept, where there's a little malt at the top and the grain whisky comprises the main body."
Het verhaal van Suntory
Suntory behoort tot de grootste whiskyproducenten van Japan. Het bedrijf werd opgericht in 1923 door Shinjiro Torii, die de Yamazaki Distillery nabij Kyoto opende. Sindsdien heeft Suntory tientallen jaren ervaring opgebouwd in whisky-creatie en meerdere awards ontvangen.
