Romcaffè werd ruim 90 jaar geleden opgericht door Elio Romagnoli in Macerata, Italië. In 1950 opende hij een aantal barretjes in onderandere Bologna, Ancona en uiteraard Macerata. Inmiddels is het één van de bekenste koffie in Italie en zelf Dan Brown noemde het bedrijf in één van zijn boeken: Angels & Demons: "The feast was sumptuous. Romcaffè: Meer dan 90 jaar traditie

De geschiedenis van Romcaffè begon ruim 90 jaar geleden in Macerata, Italië, met Elio Romagnoli, een pionier in de franchise van koffiebars. In 1950 opende hij vestigingen in onder andere Bologna, Ancona en Macerata, waarmee de eerste ROMCAFFÈ koffiebars een feit waren. Sindsdien is Romcaffè uitgegroeid tot een bekende Italiaanse koffie, die dagelijks wereldwijd zo'n half miljoen keer wordt gedronken. Het familiebedrijf, nu geleid door de kleinzoon van de oprichter, staat bekend om zijn kwalitatieve koffie. In 2020 vierde Romcaffè zijn 90-jarig bestaan, een bewijs van hun constante passie voor perfecte espresso.
