De Acer palmatum 'Crimson Princess' is een laagblijvende Japanse esdoorn, gekend om zijn rode blad en compacte groei. Bladkleur en structuur

Kenmerkend aan de 'Crimson Princess' zijn de opvallende rode bladeren die in het voorjaar en de zomer de plant sieren. In de herfst transformeert de kleur naar een rijkere tint, die nog meer opvalt. De fijn gesneden, decoratieve bladeren geven de boom een delicate uitstraling.

Plantlocatie

Deze Japanse esdoorn verkiest een plekje in de halfschaduw om zijn levendige bladkleur te behouden en te beschermen tegen de felle zon. Hij gedijt het best in goed doorlatende, licht zure grond.

Verzorging

Regelmatig water geven is belangrijk, vooral tijdens droge perioden. Snoeien is zelden nodig; enkel voor vormbehoud en het verwijderen van dode takjes.
