Blackmagic ATEM 2 M/E Constellation HD

This advanced multi‑layer switcher is engineered to meet the demands of large‑scale HD live production, where uncompromising reliability, speed and creative flexibility are essential. Its 2 M/E architecture is built around twenty fully standards‑converted 3G‑SDI inputs, each equipped with automatic frame rate and format conversion. This capability removes the need for external converters and allows the system to integrate a wide range of cameras, playback devices and remote feeds with perfect signal synchronization, making it ideal for high‑pressure environments such as broadcast control rooms, entertainment venues and multi‑camera event production. 

Twelve independently assignable 3G‑SDI auxiliary outputs offer extensive routing flexibility across displays, recorders and stage screens. Each output can be sourced individually, ensuring operators can create custom feeds tailored to production, monitoring or venue‑specific needs. The internal processing engine includes two dedicated DVEs for dynamic picture‑in‑picture compositions, layered transitions and repositioning, while a powerful SuperSource module adds an additional four DVEs and four fully configurable boxes, enabling rich multilayer layouts with multiple sources active simultaneously. 

To support advanced virtual and graphic‑driven productions, the system includes eight ATEM Advanced Keyers. These deliver high‑precision chroma keying suited for virtual sets, green screen work and complex lower‑third or logo composites. Two fully independent multiview outputs allow operators to monitor up to sixteen sources per screen, combining program, preview, cameras, key masks, media players and audio meters with clear labelling. This provides exceptional situational awareness during fast‑paced shows. 

Integrated talkback via SDI pathways streamlines communication between director and camera operators, supporting both program and engineering channels without additional cabling. A built‑in Fairlight audio mixer offers up to forty‑eight channels with EQ and dynamics processing, enabling full audio integration directly within the switcher. The front panel features an LCD monitor and illuminated buttons for emergency control and configuration, while full operation can be expanded using ATEM Software Control or external hardware panels over Ethernet.
