Deze De-Wa klankschaal is een authentiek, handgehamerd ritueelobject uit Nepal. Ze valt op door haar wijd uitlopende vorm en de heldere, langdurige klank die uitnodigt tot verstilling en aandacht.

Elke klankschaal wordt met zorg en aandacht met de hand gevormd. Daarbij doorloopt het metaal meerdere fasen om de juiste vorm en een zuivere toon te krijgen. Verschillende metalen zoals koper en tin (de basis voor brons) worden eerst gesmolten en in mallen gegoten. Vervolgens worden schijven van verschillende maten gesneden, die handmatig gehamerd en in meerdere verhitbeurten tot hun uiteindelijke vorm worden gebracht. Dit proces vraagt geduld en precisie, omdat het metaal roodgloeiend moet zijn om scheuren te voorkomen. Nadat de basisvorm is ontstaan, volgt het fijne hamerwerk om de schaal haar unieke geluid te geven. De afwerking bestaat uit het zorgvuldig schuren, polijsten en eventueel beitelen van de schaal, wat elk exemplaar een eigen karakter geeft.

Nice sandal that works well for me, feet sit comfortably in the shoes. I’m a quadriplegic that needs someone to wrestle my legs while putting my shoes on for me. These go on fairly easily. I have short legs and the extra height of the sandals helps to reduce the pressure on the back of my legs while my feet are on the legrests. Also my ankles tend to buckle and cause my feet and shoes to roll over onto the side of my foot. The soles of the UGG Goldenglow are wide and flat, substantially reducing this tendency. As far as comfort and function while walking, I can’t speak to that.

One of the sides was completely unattached and within 30 minutes they were only on my foot by one strap. Super disappointed!! But I loved them enough that I ordered another pair to get me through until boot weather.

Maybe I would have been better going down a size because I want to have my feet feel super snug and secure in sandals, especially if I’m dancing.
