Blackmagic Teranex Mini SDI to Audio 12G

This compact audio interface is engineered to extract high quality sound from any SDI source and route it to a wide range of professional audio systems. Designed for modern broadcast and post production environments, it supports everything from standard definition through full Ultra HD, with automatic format detection that adapts effortlessly to SD, HD, 2K and 4K signals. This ensures that operators can trust the device to deliver stable performance in hybrid or fast changing setups without manual adjustment. Its 12G SDI architecture provides generous bandwidth for high frame rate Ultra HD sources, maintaining pristine fidelity throughout the audio path.

Once an SDI feed enters the unit, embedded audio can be de‑embedded and converted into multiple output formats simultaneously. Professional balanced analog audio is available via XLR for integration with mixers, monitors and legacy equipment. For digital workflows, up to four channels of balanced AES or EBU audio can be delivered over XLR, giving facilities the flexibility needed for multi device routing and audio post production. The addition of a TOSLINK optical output enables clean, noise free signal transmission to HiFi equipment or consumer gear, making the converter suitable for a wide range of production environments. This triple format output capability supports both creative and technical use cases, from monitoring to ingest and signal distribution. 

The converter accommodates up to sixteen channels of embedded SDI audio, providing extensive flexibility for multichannel or surround workflows commonly found in modern productions. Timecode support is available through the right channel XLR, which can be configured to output synchronization signals when required. This is especially useful in environments where video, sound and external hardware must remain precisely aligned. With reclocking on the SDI input, signal stability is maintained even over long cable runs, ensuring consistent performance in demanding broadcast infrastructures. 

Configuration and management are accessible through mini switches, USB or Ethernet, making the device easy to integrate into machine rooms, racks or mobile systems. Remote administration supports centralised control across large facilities. An optional front mounted smart panel adds an LCD, rotary knob and quick access controls, enabling real time monitoring and on‑device configuration.
