The estate

The Château Lascombes is a renowned Classified Growth of Margaux, recognised for the exceptional quality of its wines. Covering 120 hectares of the Margaux appellation, this historic estate has recently been acquired by the Lawrence family.

The vineyard

Located on the left bank of Bordeaux in the Margaux appellation, the vineyard of Château Lascombes benefits from various types of soils, bringing a unique complexity to its wines. Viticultural methods include leaf thinning on the east side in June/July and cluster thinning if necessary. The grapes are entirely hand-harvested in ten-kilo crates and sorted before and after destemming to ensure optimal quality.

The wine

 2023 is the first vintage crafted by Alex Heinz, the new Director of the estate, after having led two iconic Tuscan estates, Ornellaia and Masseto.

Vinification and ageing

Manual harvest followed by rigorous sorting. Gentle vinification by infusion. Maceration of 20 to 30 days. The wine is aged in barrels, vats and amphorae.

Blend

This Château Lascombes 2023 is the result of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (27%) and Petit Verdot (3%).
