Dé verrassing tijdens de meest recente editie van Graspop festival was ongetwijfeld het rock optreden van Helmut Lotti. Media en publiek geraken nog steeds niet uitgepraat over de live wervelstorm die Helmut over het nietsvermoedend publiek in Dessel ontketende. Het publiek was vanaf de eerste noten helemaal mee, monden vielen open van verbazing. De media struikelden over de superlatieven en de immer kritische metal gemeenschap doet wat het altijd doet : kwaliteit belonen en artiesten omarmen die het verdienen. Het optreden op die zonovergoten juni-dag, blijkt het startschot van een nieuw muzikaal hoofdstuk voor Lotti. Het begon allemaal een klein jaar geleden met die cover van ‘Run To the Hills’ Iron Maiden die vriend en vijand met verstomming sloeg. Helmut voelt zich als een vis in het water in het rijke repertoire van o.m Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, AC/DC enz. En nu is er dus een volwaardig album, live opgenomen tijdens dat nu al legendarische concert. Helmut lijkt helemaal klaar om een boeiend nieuw hoofdstuk te schrijven in zijn lange carrière die hem ook nu weer bevestigt als één van de meeste veelzijdige en succesvolle Belgische artiesten van de afgelopen decennia. Het éénmalige concert op GMM lijkt ondertuseen uit te groeien tot een heuse hype. Nieuw aangekondigde concertenverkopen in een mum van tijd uit. Iedereen wil deel uitmaken van Hellmut Lottis goes metal. Hats off, Horns on, Rock on Hellmut !!!

Stunning Second Chance Romance

Well, I truly began my February reading in the best way with this book. I was so excited to read it after absolutely loving the Tattered and Torn series and it DELIVERED my friends. It has all of the emotions, all of the beauty, all of the suspense I’ve come to adore in Catherine’s books turned up even just a little more. Dare I say she even turned up the spice a bit?? Phew with the heat between these two! Along with the suspense element we get served small town, an over protective hero, and the most heart melting of second chance romances. Right from the prologue this book is off and running, I was not prepared for it. You meet Wren and hear about her gorgeous love for Holt. An absolutely horrific event occurs though that we learn sends him running for 10 years, and makes her a ghost of her former self after losing him. Neither of them, especially Holt, handled the aftermath well. It made me love them more though to see the growth they go through when he comes back and they reforge their intense, soul deep connection. Both of them face a whole lot of demons. I also love that even though it was completely awful for them both to be apart, Holt leaving forces Wren to become independent and stand on her own. So their second time around, it’s an even stronger, more equal relationship. If you follow my feed closely, you also know that I am always gone for a found family dynamic, and we have that here in spades with the way the Hartleys watch out for Wren. Her relationship with Holt’s parents and siblings is just gorgeous. The way Holt heals his relationship with them all is wonderful too. I’m already deeply in love with Nash and cannot WAIT for his book next. Yes to a new family saga series, please and thank you!!! I can’t recommend this one enough.
