UV-C lamp

Bij een UV-C unit wordt je vijverwater langs een lamp gepompt die ultraviolet licht uitstraalt. Het UV-C gedeelte van het lichtspectrum beschadigt het DNA van micro-organismen, zodat ze zich niet kunnen vermeerderen. Het is eigenlijk ook een manier van filteren. Zweefalgen, schimmels en ziektekiemen worden hierdoor gedood. Het levert helder vijverwater op en zorgt voor een gezond milieu voor de vissen en planten in je vijver.

Levensduur

De levensduur van een UV-C lamp is ongeveer één jaar. Daarna dien je de UV-C lamp te vervangen want de kracht van je lamp is dan te veel afgenomen om nog goed te werken. De lamp brandt nog wel maar heeft een te laag rendement om goed te kunnen functioneren.
