In 1978 werd Saint Clair Estate opgericht door Neal en Judy Ibbotson. Deze winery is vandaag de dag nog altijd in hun handen. Het wijnhuis staat voor consistente kwaliteit. Ieder jaar wint Saint Clair een reeks aan medailles en met enige regelmaat valt de wijnmaker in de prijzen. In 2005 en recent in 2010 werd Saint Clair uitgeroepen tot beste Nieuw Zeelands wijnhuis. Saint Clair is redelijk bekend in Nederland en daar zijn ze bij Saint Clair trots op. Saint Clair is gespecialiseerd in het maken van top Sauvignon Blanc. Saint Clair bezit ruim 270 hectare wijngaarden in Marlborough op het Zuidereiland, en in Hawke’s Bay op het Noordereiland. De druiven zijn afkomstig van een geselecteerde wijngaard met een zeer vruchtbare bodem. Deze bodem is geleidelijk ontstaan door historische overstromingen. Hierdoor bevatten de druiven en bijzondere intensiteit. De druiven worden tijdens het rijpen zorgvuldig gevolgd en in de koelte van de avond geoogst bij maximale smaakrijpheid.De vinificatie en smaken van de Pioneer Block 1 Sauvignon Blanc
Het sap wordt onmiddellijk na het oogsten afgeperst om huidcontact en sap verslechtering te minimaliseren. Na het bezinken wordt het sap gefermenteerd met behulp van een geselecteerde giststam in roestvrij staal. Hierdoor behoudt de wijn zijn fruitsmaak en frisheid. In de geur tropische fruit gecombineerd met meloen en guave! De smaak is zacht en heerlijk fris. In de smaak zwarte bessen gecombineerd met groene kruiden. Staalachtig met minerale tonen en een subtiele zoute toon die blijft hangen in de afdronk. Een ideale combinatie met gerookte zalm of mosselen. Echt weer een TOP glas van Saint ClairShipping Notes

Updated review: spitting and splintering
UPDATE:
Originally, one of the boards arrived with a split in it, but I was still happy with them. After a few weeks of light use, hand washing and drying of the boards, I figured it was time to update this review and knock these down to 1 star.
The boards do not hold up very well. Cut marks are deep, and they are starting to splinter. Another of the boards has also developed a split.
Save your money and go with cutting boards from someone else.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I bought these cutting boards to cut down on microplastic exposure. This would be a 5 star review except that one of the boards arrived cracked (noticed while hand washing all of them before use). Despite the one cracked board, I did not return them, as I immediately started using the boards, was too busy to deal with it at the time, and the overall value was still there.
These boards are great, the value is excellent since you get several of different sizes. I like that all sizes have the moat for juices, because sometimes you are cutting one or two chicken breasts or one steak and don’t want to have to grab a big board.
I honestly am writing this review because I wouldn’t be surprised if the company sends me a replacement. If they do, I will update the review to reflect their customer service.

The Best buy for my kitchen
