Aanplanten in de tuin, waar en hoe?

De Hedera colchica 'Arborescens' is een tolerante plant, die ook op moeilijke standplaatsen in uw tuin gedijt. Deze klimop vraagt een voedselrijke, vochthoudende 'gemiddelde' bodem. Dus niet te zware of te lichte grond en een vrij neutrale zuurgraad (pH = 6 - 8). Deze heester staat graag in een plekje in de zon of halfschaduw en verdraagt zomerse hitte redelijk, mits de standplaats voldoende vochtig of schaduwrijk is. Ze kan bij nachtvorst in april-mei schade oplopen.

Bijzonderheden

De klimop (hedera familie) wordt ook wel eiloof of (boom)veil genoemd. Deze groenblijvende en houtige liaan uit de klimop familie groeit erg snel. De Hedera zijn uitstekend te gebruiken voor het begroeien van bijvoorbeeld hekwerken, schuttingen, muren en bomen.
