🗻De drie druivensoorten in deze witte wijn worden verbouwd op verschillende percelen van de wijngaarden van Château Fonréaud in Listrac-Médoc: de sauvignon en de muscadelle op de grindgronden van de Pyreneeën en de sémillon op klei-kalk gronden.
🌥De streek heeft een maritiem klimaat, bepaald door de Atlantische oceaan. De hitte wordt getemperd door de golfstroom en de rivier Gironde. Milde winters, warme zomers en een lange zonnige herfst. De zeewind wordt tegengehouden door een strook van dennenbossen langs de kustlijn.
VITICULTUUR:
🌿 Door wijzigingen in het klimaat verdwenen op het einde van de jaren 50 de wijnstokken voor witte druiven . Vanaf 1988 proberen we echter opnieuw aan te knopen met deze traditie met een kleine wijngaard die we onderhouden als of het onze tuin is.
✋🚜De oogst gebeurt manueel in verschillende keren. Bij elke passage worden de druiven geselecteerd die optimaal rijp zijn.
VINIFICATIE:
🍷 Gisting en rijping op houten vaten waarvan er elk jaar 30 à 40% nieuw zijn.
⌛De wijnen rijpen "sur lie", dwz op de fijne most die gedurende het rijpingsproces af en toe omgeroerd wordt (bâtonnage). Op die manier komen alle complexe aroma's vrij. Botteling in het kasteel net voor de zomer volgend op de oogst.

👃 Fijne elegante neus met aroma's van pompelmoes en witte perzik
👅 Een soepele aanzet, vet en nerveus, gevolgd door een elegante lange afdronk met een mooi evenwicht tussen de fruittoetsen en de fijne zuren
WIJN en GERECHT:
🍽 Sint-jacobsvruchten in currysaus, gebakken langoustines, zeeduivel met saffraansaus. Maar ook wit vlees in roomsaus en tajines met kip en fruit. Kabeljauw in botersaus, scampipannetje, kaaskroket, zalm met mousseline, warme schaaldieren
⌛ Jong of binnen de 3 jaar te drinken als u ten volle wil genieten van alle aroma's. Of langer laten liggen als u van koppige wijnen houdt.

A Favorite All-Time Classic
I've always enjoyed this classic film. Ava Gardner is my favorite all-time actress. She's great in the role of Kitty. Burt Lancaster is also fine as the torn man in love with a woman he struggles to have. This is based on one of Hemingway's short stories, and they did a fine job. Same with the remake in 1964 with Lee Marvin and Clu Gulagher. You will not be disappointed in either version, but my favorite is the orignal.

1 Ernest Hemingway story, 2 different movie takes, very cool.
I like value. Two movie versions of a cool story for the price of one, I am in.
The Burt Lancaster version is film noir cool, while the Lee Marvin has that manic 60’s television feel. The Lee Marvin version gets bonus for Ronald Reagan’s portrayal of the heavy. He is quite menacing.
