Wijnhuis Poitout zag in 2003 het levenslicht. Echtpaar Chaterine en Louis Poitout richtten het wijnhuis op. Zij zijn allebei in de Chablis opgegroeid en wijn maken heeft altijd een belangrijke rol in hun leven gespeeld. In krap twintig jaar hebben zij een wijnhuis van formaat uit de grond gestampt. Inmiddels omvat het domein van Poitout zo een 18 hectare wijngaarden, waarvan enkele ook nog een gekwalificeerd zijn met een 1Cru Bourgogne. Poiout is een samensmelting van de wijngaarden van iedere helft van het echtpaar Poitout. Zo heeft Catherine de wijngaarden in Chablis en Lignorelles ingebracht. De wijngaarden in Maligny en Villy behoren oorspronkelijk tot de vader van Louis Poitout toe; Michel Poitout. Om het wijnhuis Poitout nog meer aanzien te geven, kochten ze samen de wijngaarden in Fleys. Doordeze unieke combinatie, heeft Poitout zich ontwikkeld tot een indrukwekkend wijnhuis.De geur en smaak van Poitout Chablis
Als er een franse wijn beroemd is geworden over de hele wereld, dan is het wel de Chablis. Gesitueerd rondom het gelijknamige dorpje, vindt je de meest schitterende wijngaarden van de Bourgogne. Het is voornamelijk Chardonnay wat de klok slaat; zo ook op de wijngaarden van Poitout. Deze Chardonnay druif weet zich bijzonder te ontwikkelen mede door in het unieke terroir waar de wijnstokken op geplant zijn. Deze Chablis van Poitout is er een uit de buitencategorie. Zodra de fles wordt geopend wordt je direct ingepakt door typisch Chablis tonen. Je herkent verfrissende citrus, maar ook opvallende nuances van mineralen, vuursteen en acacia. A familiar story, just with…..less.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters.
That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception.
SPOILER:
The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured.
I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fantastic writing and non-stop action

This is a promising, fantastic beginning to what will be a 4-book series. Some readers may be content to read only the first 2 books, but I think you'll find that the story is so good that you'll want to keep reading books 3 and 4.
Book 1 is about omega Elvana's introduction to the "Starling" brothers and their search for another missing person, Kelly. It's a bit of a rocky start, with deception and betrayal a key element. Hardly an auspicious beginning. Each member has their own path and purpose in the pack. Their interactions and the resulting narrative are so well-written that I found it difficult to put down.
There is a cliffhanger that will have you reaching for book 2 as you finish, so make sure you have it on hand.

Fun read
Format: Kindle
I'm not really into mafia books but I love Roxy Collin's other series so I decided to give it a try. It had the same great romance, spice, swoon-worthy characters and exciting plot that are her signature. Arben was my favorite, although it was a bit sudden how quickly he changed from ignoring her to wanting to be pack. There were almost too many twists/layers of lies to keep track of but I'm looking forward to reading the other books.
The only thing that detracted from the story for me was the need for a bit more proofreading. It was mentioned that Kelly is a female and male at different points, leading me to think she changed her mind at some point about the character's gender but didn't go back and edit it to align in all places. Like another reviewer pointed out, step siblings are different than half siblings. They are incorrectly referred to as step siblings because they (allegedly) share the same biological dad. There are a few other typos as well but those aren't a big deal.

Good read
Format: Kindle
The book has some good twists and turns, but truthfully I was so confused on some things. It didn't have a good flow for me personally. Not sure if it's due to typos or using him/her wrongly, but I thought Kelly was both a guy and a girl. Actually I still don't know, and it made me incredibly frustrated. It would refer to Kelley as him or he, and then again in another part of the story as her she and sister. On to the next book, I hope there is some clarity and a smoother flow. This is a slow burn, and I just don't know how much I care for the Alphas yet. Idk if I recommend.
