Een schaduwdoek is dé stijlvolle en effectieve oplossing om u tegen de warmte en schadelijke UV-stralen te beschermen. Een schaduwdoek wordt gemeten van bevestigingspunt naar bevestigingspunt. Let op: alle zijden van een kwaliteit schaduwdoek zijn hol (concaaf) uitgesneden. Hierdoor spant een doek in het midden dus iets naar binnen om een mooi strak doek te krijgen. U verliest hierdoor ongeveer 10% in het midden van iedere zijde. We hebben we een uitgebreide handleiding gemaakt. Ter verduidelijking ziet u bij de foto's een tekening met de bruto en netto maten van een doek 300x400 cm. Bij andere doeken kunt u een gelijke maatvoering verhouding aanhouden.

LET OP: het schaduwdoek wordt geleverd zonder bevestigingsmateriaal. Voor standaard montage van dit schaduwdoek is dat: 8720572201408 - 4gardenz® RVS schaduwdoek montageset / zonnedoek montage 6 mm.
Waterafstotend of waterdoorlatend?
U heeft de keuze uit een waterdoorlatend of waterafstotend schaduwdoek waarbij het verschil zit in de structuur van het doek. Een waterdoorlatend schaduwdoek is gemaakt van HDPE, is stevig kunststof en heeft een meer open structuur. Dit zorgt ervoor dat dit schaduwdoek water zal doorlaten. Een waterafstotend schaduwdoek is gemaakt van Polyester. Dit heeft een dichtere weefselstructuur en zorgt hierdoor voor een optimale bescherming wanneer het regent. Het is hierbij wel belangrijk dat u het doek aflopend ophangt zodat het water eraf kan lopen. De bescherming tegen UV-straling is ongeveer 85% en is iets minder dan bij niet-waterafstotende doeken. Ook zijn ze minder bestand tegen harde wind en windstoten.
Schaduwdoek montage
- Bij montage dient het logo op het doek naar beneden te wijzen.
- Wij adviseren om het montage oog van het doek niet direct te monteren aan het bevestigingspunt maar altijd een touw of staaldraad er tussen te monteren.
- Bepaal eerst de spanmaat. Houd rekening met een spanmaat van 20 cm bij ieder bevestigingspunt voor speling van de wind en de mogelijkheid om goed op te spannen. Doe dit bijvoorbeeld met het meegeleverde touw of met stalen spandraad welke bij bouwmarkten te koop is.
- Een waterdoorlatend schaduwdoek heeft een open structuur, hierdoor is afwaterend ophangen niet noodzakelijk. Het is uiteraard wel mogelijk om het doek schuin af te hangen als u dat mooier of praktischer vindt.
De stof van schaduwdoeken is eenvoudig te reinigen met lauw water, een zachte borstel en groene zeep. Een goed opgespannen schaduwdoek kan veel regen en wind verdragen. Echter, bij een storm (vanaf windkracht 6) en bij sneeuwval adviseren wij om het doek te verwijderen. On de levensduur te bevorderen raden wij aan het schaduwdoek na de zomer naar binnen te halen en in het voorjaar weer op te hangen. Zorg dat het schaduwdoek goed droog is voordat het wordt opgeborgen.

Perfect for Pilots

I work in aviation and got these because they have a very top gun, fresh-esque look. The glass is solid, I’ve dropped them a few times and haven’t scratched them yet (from August - March). Fits perfectly under my headset and they can slide on and off pretty easily with the headset on. I can see the G1000 perfectly, without losing any of the panel as I did with my polarized glasses.
Good shades - slightly too small for my face, hence the four stars.

Just perfect.

I saw this model of Ray Bans while watching Top Gun: Maverick. Actor John Hamm (Cyclone, in the movie) sported these during the beach scene. I looked for them here in Amazon and was lucky to find them for less than $100. They fit just great, and the lenses (G-15), give a clear and high definition picture. I definitely recommend them, perfect for driving, cycling, or your next F/A-18 mission.

Almost like they used to be...

These are the 3rd pair of Caravans I've owned over the years. The 1st pair were chrome frames and got mangled one time when I had set them on the trunk of the car to fill-up and drove away without them. Went back after only 100 yards or so, but by then they had been clipped by another car and were toast. Kept the lenses, sent the frame back to B&L (when they were still in Rochester -- and when customer service really WAS important to the company) and they sent back a brand-new pair of black-framed beauties -- FOR FREE!
This pair recently experienced a broken frame - right at the junction of the lower curved piece that holds the lens frames together. (How this happened, I have no idea. I was wearing them. Put them in my shirt pocket. Took them out, put them on, and the lens was still in my pocket!) Now, Bausch & Lomb is owned by Luxottica (in Atlanta, GA.) Not entirely friendly, I would say, especially in the tone of the service rep's voice and bluntness. And I was told my only hope of getting any kind of satisfaction was to ship the broken pair to them and after examination they would decide whether it was a manufacturing defect or a customer caused one. Believe me -- there are NO damage marks on these black frames. The frame just cracked due to what? Fatigue, I guess. If judged in my favor they'd give me a substantial discount (40%, I believe) off list price on another pair that they might have in stock at the time. Egads! Talk about leaving you feeling helpless. NONE of the frames and lenses shown were to my liking, so I opted out of that choice and decided to search Amazon for a pair to my liking.
So, this brings me to the new ones -- the subject at hand. The lenses on these are advertised as being 55mm wide, which they are. However, the original Caravans were 58mm wide = a small but perceptable difference, especially in field-of-view coverage AND how they look on your face. The G15 lenses seem to be the same tint, and the color (gun metal grey) is very nice. They fit well, and are what one would expect given the name RayBan. Therefore, I recommend them.
[Footnote: As for my broken 58mm black-framed pair -- I looked up repair shops on the I-net, found 2 that seemed to talk a good game, picked one (in Cincinnati) and shipped them off today to have the frame laser welded. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they'll come back in usable shape (as promised) and I will again have my Old Faithfull's back. $35 to save a no-longer-made classic pair of RayBans is worth it in my book.]

Classic Design!! But the 55mm frame is too small..

Really solid frame and arrived rather fast (7 days before the expected date). It included the original packaging, booklets, cloth and case (the brown one) in the original box. Was surprised that it felt quite heavy, or at least more than what Im used to, although when I wear it I can't really feel the weight. The weight also adds to the feel of it making its structure feel a little more solid that lighter sunglasses.
Unfortunately, the 55mm gunmetal + green G 15 lens which I ordered, is about 6 millimetres too small at the sides for me although the lens and front frame are the right size for me and it's actually still wearable. (it's just me).
I would probably get the 58mm gold + green G15 later to see if there's a big difference (shouldn't be from the measurements given). That and the fact that these are a great pair of shades with a really classic design

Iconic, but needs a few notes

A great style, especially for those of us who don't go for the original Aviator style. But these sunglasses do need a few notes.
The size on these have 58mm-diameter lenses with 15 mm between the lenses (if my decoding of the code on the side is correct. This is the largest size in this style, and even at that they are just *slightly* too small at the ears for my head. For context, the Ray Ban Wayfarer with a 50mm lens and 22m nosepiece fits perfectly.
Also these, like the original Aviators, are intended to cover pretty much the entire eye socket, so if you're seeing light coming in from the side or top...they are too small for you.
In other words, if you don't have a specific size head, these may not work for you and you'll be frustrated. I know it's hard to buy online since you don't get to try them on. OTOH, it's a little unethical (in my opinion) to go to a brick-and-mortar store just to try them on so you can turn around and buy them off of Amazon. DIYD and all that.
Assuming the fit is acceptable, these are very well made sunglasses. They just *feel* like quality and the lenses are fantastic. There is some concern on Amazon about some Ray Bans being fakes. The pair I received are the real thing - look for the etched R-B on the left lens (not the lens with the white logo on it), the R-B logo on the nosepieces, the lenses being made of glass (not plastic) and the identifier engraved on the underside of the bridge...these are indicators that you have a genuine pair in your hands. I purchased directly from Amazon, not a "fulfilled by Amazon" purchase, so caveat emptor on that score.
All in all, an outstanding pair of glasses at a good price.
