This BRAND NEW edition, published by John Wiley & Sons (UK) in 2017 and spanning 160 pages, delves deeply into the urgent issues surrounding global population growth. With an ISBN of 9781509515844, this essential read by renowned demographer Massimo Livi Bacci explores the staggering projection that by the next generation, Earth's population will increase by 2.5 billion—highlighting the disparity in growth rates between rich and poor nations. While affluent countries face aging populations, developing regions will experience significant youth surges, leading to a plethora of socio-political challenges. Livi Bacci critically analyzes the implications of this uneven demographic shift, including domestic social stability, international migration patterns, and ecological sustainability. Drawing on over 10,000 years of historical context, he illustrates the stark reality that the space per person on our planet has diminished drastically. This book serves as a crucial discussion on the limits of Earth's capacity and emphasizes the urgent need for sustainable development strategies. An indispensable resource for anyone interested in understanding the moral and political ramifications of living in an increasingly crowded world, this title is a must-have for forward-thinking individuals and policymakers alike.Note: Shipping for this item is free. Description:
In the space of another generation, the population of the earth will rise by 2.5 billion. Yet the real problem we face is not so much the increase in numbers as the fact that growth will be highly uneven. Whereas rich countries will see aging populations with little growth, populations in poor countries will double or even triple, having a much higher percentage of young people.
Against this backdrop, demographer Massimo Livi Bacci examines the implications of this disproportionate demographic development for domestic social stability, international migration flows, the balance of power among nations and the natural environment. Covering 10,000 years of human history from the Stone Age to the present, Livi Bacci shows how the space available for every inhabitant of the planet has decreased by a factor of a thousand. The notion of limits to the world's capacity - which once seemed a remote matter - is now among the most pressing issues we face, and the need to create effective global mechanisms for sustainable development is now more urgent than ever
An indispensable book for anyone concerned with the moral and political implications of our ever more crowded planet.

Classics! Good material with no stretch.
Size: 28, Color: Verified Vintage
I am in love with these jeans. I ordered another pair in a different wash. I also sized up two sizes but I like the looser, slouchy fit.

Back to the 70s
I love these. They fit perfect in the waist but are roomy else where.

My favorite ever jean, I have a pair in every color
Size: 26, Color: Not My News Channel
I’m a little lanky (5’9”, 125-130lbs) and I want to like wide leg/baggy jeans so bad but every time I try them on, they look ridiculous on me. I look like a straight line in them, or they’re so baggy I feel like I’m wearing a costume. These have the baggy look I’ve been searching for for years but in an understated way that doesn’t make me feel shapeless. I’m also convinced that the buttons are more flattering over the fupa than a zipper. It’s like a hidden corset vs. a zipper that contours to your shape.
If you’re in between sizes, definitely size down. Even if you’re not, you may still want to size down or buy both and return the one you don’t like

Too short
Size: 29W x 30L, Color: Ecru Booper No Damage
Sadly not meant for tall people.
I am 6” and these jeans are at least 3 inches too short, so i will be returning them. Disappointing that they don’t come in tall.

Horrible sizing & inconsistent fit
Size: 27W x 30L, Color: Ecru Booper No Damage
This pant does not fit the same as other colors from the same line/fit. I ordered this color and a light wash 501 90s Jean from Amazon after trying them on at Aritzia and both fit nothing like in store. This color has more fabric in the pocket area, making it wrinkly and unappealing when worn.
I am usually. 25” waist (size 2-4 depending on brand), and I had to order a 27” for this to fit around my waist, so size up. I don’t think Levi’s work for curvy girls. I am 125lbs, 5’3”, and an hourglass shape. Levi’s don’t fit comfortably on my hourglass figure, which is unfortunate that such a famous brand still hasn’t perfected a fit for curvy people.
The color, thickness, quality, and length were good though, but ultimately returning as it simply doesn’t look good on.
