This necklace is quintessential Lenfant: in the way couturiers treated silk, Lenfant treats gold. Woven, twisted, supple in the hand, the necklace falls like fabric with the weight of gold. The tiger’s-eye stones stationed along the length of the chain are spectacular, catching light in slow bands of honey and tobacco brown. The stones interrupt the gold with perfect timing. In the 1970s, French jewelers rediscovered hardstones with warmth and opacity, including tiger ’s-eye, lapis, coral, and malachite.  These gave jewelers another way to animate a piece without increasing visual noise. Here, they provide just the right amount of volume, like the low notes in a song.

The story of Lenfant begins in the back corridors of Place Vendôme, in the workshops the public rarely saw and the grandes Maisons depended on completely. The atelier was founded in Paris at the turn of the twentieth century and registered its maker’s mark in 1909, first under Georges Lenfant, later under his son Jacques, who transformed the workshop into something close to a cult among dealers, auction specialists, and jewelers themselves. In the early 20th century, the workshop produced watch chains, primarily for Cartier, and later expanded its collaborations to include illustrious houses such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Hermès, Bulgari, Sandoz, Mellerio, Mauboussin, René Boivin, Fred Paris, and Gübelin, among others. Over time, the name Georges Lenfant became synonymous with exquisite craftsmanship, as the atelier not only created pieces for these prestigious names but also produced jewelry under its own signature.

Lenfant’s obsession was with chains. In interviews and in his own book, Le livre de la chaîne, Jacques Lenfant described chains almost musically as the sound of links moving against one another, the cadence of metal in motion. He understood something most jewelers did not: that flexibility is harder to engineer than rigidity. Anyone can cast a heavy object. Making gold behave like cloth requires mathematics, metallurgy, and patience in equal proportion.

The woven quality in the necklace comes from an extraordinarily labor-intensive process. Individual gold wires were drawn to precise gauges, twisted or braided into repeating units, then soldered link by link under magnification. The weave had to move without kinking. Too loose and the necklace collapsed into slackness; too tight and it lost fluidity. Lenfant workshops became famous for calibrating tension almost invisibly. The result was what dealers now call tissu milanais or textile goldwork: surfaces that catch light like woven fabric rather than polished metal.

Paris in the 1960s and 1970s was the perfect environment for this kind of work. Haute joaillerie had begun moving away from the rigid, diamond-heavy formality of the postwar years toward something more sensual and body-conscious. Yves Saint Laurent was putting women in satin and safari jackets; Halston was doing the American version across the Atlantic. Jewelry followed the body downward with longer chains, sautoirs, and draped forms; these pieces moved with the wearer. Lenfant’s chains belonged naturally to that world because they already possessed movement internally.  What we find so intriguing is that usually it is the ornamentation of the piece that creates the “drama.” Here, the mechanics and movement create the sensation.

Even today, auction catalogues return to the same language around Lenfant: movement, texture, suppleness, and finish. They are describing engineering as much as beauty. We can only say it like this: Lenfant achieves the purest expression of goldsmithing. A necklace we adore.

For soft, sensually awesome sheets- LOOK no more!
Color: 15 - Sage Green, Size: Full
Would give 10 stars if possible! (And this is a nonpaid for review!) When I received the sheets, instantly I knew that I had the right ones, had bought a down comforter close in color as well.. these sheets? The material is strong yet, soft and warm. So so especially soft, and when I make up the bed, ahhh! plus the corners on the fitted, such a cinch to pull over the mattress, even with a topper on the bed! Feels almost spa-like <3 Very comfy, so far in the winter and in 85 degree heat! Soft and easy peasy to care for, too. Washing is a breeze, dry and fold. So far the only thing I can smell on these sheets is my wonderful detergent! Will purchase again. And possibly, again! Thank you!!

Color is exactly as advertised. Feels very soft, fits perfectly. No weird odor and not too warm 🥵. Only downfall I can tell is it seems a bit thin.

Very thin. You get what you pay for.
Color: 01 - White, Size: Queen
You get what you pay for. I first noticed the softness which was great. The quality is very thin. They are cool which is great. I have not washed them yet. I would suggest washing them on cool and gentle by themselves. And because they are so thin I would fluff dry for an hour if you have that setting. The two things that damages clothes and sheets, etc. are if you have an agitator in your washer, those ruin clothes and the heat you choose for the fabric you’re drying I always wash my clothes on cold. I do not have an agitator anymore and on delicate and thin fabrics, I use fluff dry. It is cool, but it will dry, especially if it is thin and I’ve had to dry my fine delicates a little bit longer on fluff that way they don’t shrink because the shrinking comes in from the heat from the dryer so keep that in mind another good thing to remember if you got white sheets like I did is that when you use your detergent add a little bit of borax or laundry booster and they will help get them clean and sparkly white. I am on the fence about whether I would recommend this or not if you’re tight on money and you take good care of them I would recommend that you get them. I’m a linen freak and I buy mostly expensive sheets and I thought I would try this out so that’s where I’m at.

Finally we BOTH can sleep comfy!
Color: 08 - Black, Size: Queen
So for years my boyfriend has always liked “jersey sheets” or “tee shirt” sheets or sheets made of flannel. He says he doesn’t like the feeling of cold “silky” feeling sheets as he’s always cold. I’m opposite and am always hot, and anytime we stayed in a nice hotel I looked forward to being able to sleep on cooler, taught, soft sheets for a couple of nights. I was able to deal with our old sheets but the issue we both hated was after awhile any sheet we got would get pilling. We even splurged and got a $60 flannel sheet which did the same thing forcing me to shave off these little annoying fuzz balls that make it feels like there is thousands of crumbs on the sheets. I also would wash our bedding once a week because the Jersey sheets seemed to “grow” as we move around in bed making it so the sheet was not taught and super annoying to lay on. The day I would wash them they would be comfortable but ultimately by the end of the week they would be almost hanging off our mattress. I ordered these sheets on a whim and got them the same day and immediately just threw out the jersey sheet and put this on (I didn’t even wash it, I know it’s gross but I was desperate for a comfy nights sleep and they came around 8pm) when I put them on I realized how soft and comfortable they felt. I also liked how the pillow cases are larger than most pillow cases that I have had in the past. We’ve been using these sheets for about a week and I love how I don’t wake up with my pillow popping out of the case anymore. The sheets have loosed ever so slightly since a week of sleeping but still are really taught and comfortable. They are cooler than flannel or fabric sheets and are initially cold when you first lay on them but I wouldn’t consider them “cooling” but they keep me from feeing extremely hot. They are way better than I ever would have expected for the price. I look forward to laying on them at the end of each day, even my boyfriend laid in bed the day I got them and said “wow I didn’t think I would like sheets like this, these are so soft!” And fell asleep immediately. We ended up ordering a second set in grey and the color is pretty. I still have yet to wash them, I usually use 2 tide pods when washing the bedding but I might get some fabric softener (as I hear it helps with pilling) to prevent the possibility of having that happen to these sheets in the future. I am hoping they hold up well after the wash and longer use. If they start to pill after wash, I will come back and update my review. Until then, I would highly recommend these sheets for the quality and the price point that they are offered at. Honestly, at this point even if they pill months from now I probably wouldn’t even be upset as long as they stay the same price I would just buy another set as they are just that comfortable and soft. UPDATE: So it has been about 3 months since I have purchase and used these sheets. They are still as soft as the day I first put them on. I’ve been washing them bi-weekly along with my comforter and pillowcases. I wash them with warm water using a combination of tide pods and added Downy fabric softener. They say to hang dry them in the description but I have been putting them in the dryer on medium and have been taking them out after around 20-25 minutes, they seem to dry extremely quickly. They have yet to have absolutely any pilling and also have not shrunk or stretched. Also I have a cat that is very active and also sleeps with me who enjoys kneading on my bed and I haven’t even noticed any signs of wear what so ever to the eye or to the feel. I highly recommend these sheets. I still have yet to even open the second set I purchased!

Happy With Our Purchase
Color: 07 - Charcoal, Size: King, Color: 07 - Charcoal, Size: King
When we opened the package the sheets were soft. We wash everything before we use it, so in these went. The sheets held nicely through the washing machine, the edges stayed sewn up and the sheets are still fluffy. The sheets fit nicely on our bed and have a nice cooling effect in this 80-degree weather. We think these sheets were a quality purchase that was affordable.
