An expanded tonal profile, a new feel for playability, and Martin's largest body style to date all assemble for a revitalized take on Martin's dreadnought legacy.

The Martin Style 18 Dreadnought is a classic in every sense. With this Standard Series Super D-18, that legacy gets a new chapter written. The Martin Standard Series Super D-18 begins with a spruce top and solid genuine mahogany back and sides. This iconic Martin tonewood combination produces the rich, familiar Martin sound made famous across generations with a particular variation: The Super D-14 Fret body style. Truly, the Standard Super D-18 leaves a large impression with the Super D-14 Fret body style which increases internal air volume by 20% over the usual dreadnought size. The Super D-14 Fret body is large and in-charge for thunderous bass, enhanced volume, and an extended dynamic range.

Building out this body at square one, Martin took the liberty to outfit it with Golden Era scalloped spruce braces in a forward-shifted X-Brace pattern. Usually found in their Modern Deluxe series, this brace pattern punches up the projection even more for a truly formidable sonic force. This combination of mahogany and spruce are then treated to a gloss finish with Dark Mahogany and Aging Toner colors, respectively.

The Super D-18 matches its massive body with a smooth neck. Attached through Martin's dovetail neck joint construction and reaching out in a Golden Era Modified Low Oval profile with a High Performance taper, this satin-finished neck is seamless for long play sessions. Another Martin classic, an ebony fingerboard, lands with this neck with twenty frets punctuated with abalone Old Style 18 Dot inlays. A smooth fretting feel on the fingers and an understated aesthetic make this neck effortless.

Like other Martin Standard Series entries, the Super D-18 is fitted with a set of reliable hardware and cool aesthetic appointments. A bone nut and saddle land at either end of this guitar's scale for a solid connection and fluidity among the strings. Alongside these pieces, the ebony bridge's Golden Era Modern Belly design and nickel open gear tuning machines solidify intonation even further. A simple black binding job and a faux tortoise pickguard land this whole experience just right. This Martin Standard Series Super D-18 travels with an included Martin molded hardshell case.
