The 2023 Bec Hardy Pertaringa Understudy Cabernet presents a fragrant varietal bouquet of cassis and spice. On the palate, rich blackcurrant flavours dominate, supported by structured tannins that contribute both elegance and length. While Understudy embodies a refined and sophisticated Cabernet style, it retains the characteristic fruit generosity and fullness that define Pertaringa wines. This Cabernet Sauvignon was carefully fermented and matured over 15 months in seasoned French oak, with each parcel treated separately during the winemaking process to preserve its complexity.
'Wonderfully composed and styled, the wine presents aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, tobacco, and elegant oak on the nose. The palate delivers excellent weight and fine flow, splendidly framed by chalky tannins, making it sturdy and robust with a lengthy, satisfying finish.'
