REVIEWS:

"The Reciprocating Self by Balswick, King, and Reimer easily gets my vote as the best book integrating human development and theology. I have been teaching human development for nearly twenty years, and it's rare to find a volume on the lifespan that synthesizes multiple theoretical frameworks and a healthy consideration of diversity and social contexts. Moreover, the motif of the reciprocating self serves to illuminate crucial dimensions of moral, spiritual, and relational development. They have grounded this work in sound research while also offering ample practical applications. This second edition offers integrative engagement with the latest developments in psychology and neuroscience and will inform much of my own teaching and research in the years ahead."
Steven J. Sandage, Albert and Jessie Danielsen Professor of Psychology of Religion and Theology, professor of psychological and brain sciences, director, the Danielsen Research Center, senior staff psychologist, Danielsen Institute, Boston University

"I was a big fan of The Reciprocating Self. It is a rare book that delivers a scientific vision of human development through the logic of the spirit, working hard to show the reader how the depth of the human developmental experience is spiritual. So you can imagine this fanboy's glee with the release of this updated second edition! If you missed it the first time, you're in for a treat. This book will broaden your vision and deepen your understanding. I think it is a must for every pastor, youth worker, and children's minister. And if you read the first edition say, in a seminary class now is the time to reread it. This updated version promises you and your ministry new insights."
Andrew Root, Luther Seminary, author of Bonhoeffer as Youth Worker)

"In the Confucian Analects, when asked, 'Is there one word which may serve as a rule of practice for all one's life?', the Master replies, 'Is not reciprocity such a word?' In The Reciprocating Self, Jack Balswick, Pamela Ebstyne King and Kevin Reimer have given us a magisterial account of reciprocity in human development. The book reflects the best current thinking in theology and developmental science, a rare and powerful combination. This book should be read by anyone interested in the most promising directions in the study of human development."
William Damon, professor and director, Stanford University Center on Adolescence, author of The Path to Purpose

Comfortable athletic dress with detached shorts
Color: Black, Size: 11-12 Years
I really like that the shorts are not attached. It makes bathroom breaks and outfit changes much easier with less hassle. The dress itself is thin and lightweight, which works well for warmer weather. The material feels good quality and breathable, and it stretches enough for movement during sports. This dress is definitely cute enough for casual wear as well. The size chart is accurate and the fit was just right. The separate shorts provide good coverage and are functional for activities like tennis or school sports. Overall, this dress works well for active wear, holds up nicely, and is worth the money for the comfort and design.

Simplicity at its best for the Tennis loving Girl
Color: White, Size: 7-8 Years
Pros: - this is a very chic and simple White Tennis dress - and stands out for its classic look! - The fit was perfect for my 4’ 8 girl and a very comfortable fit. - the dress also comes with a matching pair of shorties with a pocket / pouch for a phone or keys. - the fabric is very soft on the skin and is more technical in nature - means it can breathe well and perspiration vents out. - the material is also very stretchable - imp for playing the game and moving around daily. - I have put it through couple of rounds of washings and it has held well till date. Cons: Nothing that I can think of - durability and quality seem to hold , offering good value for money.

Nice modest sporty dress
Color: Navy Blue, Size: 11-12 Years
Nice soft dress with separate shorts. I love the color. We ordered a size 11-12 and it fits great. I wish it were a little more structured but it is very modest.

Adorable dress and fictional too
Color: Navy Blue, Size: 9-10 Years
This tennis dress is absolutely adorable and exactly what I look for in kids’ active wear. It’s modest, practical, and cute all at once! My daughter loves it, and the built-in shorts with pockets make it perfect for running, playing golf, pickleball, or just everyday summer fun. The material is soft, breathable, and moisture-wicking, so she stays comfortable even on hot days. I got size 9-10, which fits true to size. For reference, my 8-year-old is 52” and 63 lbs, and there’s still room to grow. This has quickly become a go-to outfit for summer activities because it’s stylish, functional, and kid-approved.

Stylish, comfortable, breathable, and fast drying! Perfect for active wear!
Color: Black, Size: 13-14 Years, Color: Black, Size: 13-14 Years
This tennis dress/set is perfect for my daughter. She can use it for tennis, golf, or just as an addition to her summer wardrobe. It fits true to size (though it does run a bit long), and it looks great on. The fabric is very soft and stretchy (a polyester and spandex blend). It’s also very breathable and quick drying, and I love that it’s machine washable. I also like that the shorts are not sewn in (instead it’s a two piece outfit). The shorts also have pockets large enough to fit tennis balls on both hips. The neckline is high and modest, and the skirt is loose and flowy. The dress and shorts are well made and durable too. Because it’s so lightweight, it’s great to wear even in hot and humid weather. The pullover design makes it easy to put on and take off. This dress is a great addition to any active girl’s wardrobe, and it’s a great value too. And it’s available in sizes from 7/8 to 13/14 and several different colors too!
