The body of this Custom Shop Telecaster is built from 2-piece ash, relic'd to the heaviest of the possible Fender Custom Shop treatments, to the point of multiple areas of body wood being exposed under the Nocaster Blonde coloring. The relic treatment of this guitar is made to emulate an instrument that's been used heavily since its creation in 1951, and it sports hardware with a similar effect. The '51 Nocaster body takes its shape from a classic design that has become iconic in the world of electric guitars- topped with a Vintage Logo tele neck plate that adds a touch of authenticity to the instrument's spec date. The headstock features a '51 style head scoop.
The neck of the '51 HS Telecaster is cut from quarter-sawn maple, and its profile is a comfortable 10/56 V shape, offering a vintage feel that is synonymous with guitars from this era. Finished in a nitrocellulose coating that's designed to decay beautifully as it ages, this already vintage appearing instrument will be a guaranteed looker as it's played more and more. The 9.50" radius of the maple fingerboard boasts 21 medium jumbo frets, and the bone nut is 1.650" wide.
This Custom Shop Tele sports Handwired 50-51 Blackguard Tele Pickups
in both the bridge and neck positions, offering authentic twang and bite that made the Telecaster legendary, making this guitar sound as good as it looks. The Aged Nocaster Blonde finish, Nocaster Relic'd knobs, Micarta dots, and meticulous attention to detail in the aging process really put an emphasis on the vintage look and feel of this guitar.
