1970年代のSPHINXのフィッシュモチーフのブローチ。海を泳ぐ魚がゴールドトーンのオープンワークメタルで表現された、美しくも愛らしい一品です。

魚のひれはすっきりとした曲線、鱗は珊瑚のような複雑な模様で表されており、それぞれの質感が素敵。魚の立体感や美しさを、メタルのみでジュエリーに落とし込んだデザイン性溢れるお品です。

おそらく熱帯魚がモチーフとなった優雅なフォルムが素敵で、アニマルモチーフでありながらエレガントな印象。身に纏えば、コーディネートにチャーミングな華を添えてくれます。

【SPHINX(スフィンクス)とは】
1948年にイギリスで創業したジュエリーカンパニー。まるで本物のジュエリーに見える、高品質で美しいデザインのコスチュームジュエリーを制作していました。自社製品の他にもKenneth Jay Lane、Nina Ricciなどのデザイナーや、ヨーロッパやアメリカの高級デパート向けにジュエリーデザインを手掛けていました。
刻印には"SPHINX"とシリアルナンバー、またはどちらか一方が刻まれましたが、需要を満たすために刻印をせず、急いで出荷していた時期も。会社は1990年代後半に閉業しました。
