A classic Chicago bowl with a clear direct sound.  The shallow depth brings core, brightness and ping while the bowl shape helps temper the sound.  The result is velvety smooth slurs with immense power and excellent control.

In developing the model we had a couple main objectives; improve the performance of the line on Rauch and Lewis horns and fill in the "Smooth playing direct sounding" quadrant of the G-Series.  The first step was to get ahold of one; Dan Wions of the NYC Ballet and frequent contributor at the SF Symphony was generous enough to loan me his while he was out of town.  The next step was to get a acquire a bunch of sample of the best playing mouthpieces in the Chicago style that I could.  Between purchases and loans I had over 20 of some of the best examples from Moosewood, Laskey, Osmun, Reynolds and Farkas (Hand made by Phillip himself).

It's also not just for Geyers; it plays wonderfully on a wide variety of horns including the 8Ds and (with the M shank) the Alexanders.  The Chicago sound itself was never the exclusive domain of the Geyer, many player played Schmidts and members of the Chicago symphony helped design a great number of other horns (Farkas and Merker's contributions at Holton, Pottag's contributions to the Conn 6D & Reynolds horns, etc.).  Because of that; this model bears the "C-Series" designation.

#12 bore, medium-shallow bowl-shaped cup.

Works great as advertised

Working great so far! Enjoying starting doing sublimation work. A rookie a few weeks in and it's going well. Print quality is decent. Not having paper jam issues. Was easy to setup. I had to goto Epson and download a current print driver to get all the print properties and printer settings I needed. Was easy. After I installed the 2nd driver and saw it worked better, then I uninstalled the 1st epson driver. Helped allow for 8.5 x 14 page size and high quality. Just a few options needed that were not showing on the original print driver. Took me a few days to figure out what was going on. It helped with the quality of the prints after I got the better driver. So the end product is better also.

Prints great, wifi was an issue
Style: Printer & Inks
Got the printer a week ago and have printed something every day so far and the quality of the prints have been fantastic. Arrived and set up without any major issues, other than not being able to connect to my local wifi. Had to get an Ethernet cable to connect to it.
