About the Artist: Carlos Sueños (b. 1952, San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work draws from visual art, anthropology, and performance. He earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Puerto Rico in 1978 and continued his training at the San Juan Art League and the National Center for the Arts. He went on to relocate to New York City to work at the renowned Printmaking Workshop, Inc. under master printer Robert Blackburn, where he also served as curator and registrar of its international print collection. His work has been exhibited internationally throughout the United States, Latin America, and Europe, and is held in major collections including the Library of Congress and Museo del Barrio. His honors include grants and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts, reflecting his influence on contemporary printmaking and interdisciplinary art.
