This black-on-black book brings together over 20 years of Deanna Bowen's commitment to the excavation and recontextualization of colonial legacies-particularly those which implicate her family history and the Black diaspora in North America-making her artworks vital, both in Canada and abroad. Working primarily with photography-both rediscovered and new, but also video, documentary film, sound, performance, publishing, found objects and installation art - Bowen introduces us to a re-reading of white historic and archival facts.
From its early roots in experimental documentary to constellations of found imagery, Bowen's practice has articulated how the familial histories of Black folks-histories often relegated to the margins - illuminate the official record. When she re-contextualizes previously published images in her projects, or revives discarded negatives, Bowen is hyper-aware of W.E.B. Du Bois' concept of "double consciousness"-the notion that to be Black is to live with the conflict of seeing yourself represented by White authors while profoundly recognizing the limits of such representation. - Crystal Mowry

Asurion you made the return process simple

My Very First Juicer!
This was one of the worst buys ever! I couldn't have not bought a worse machine. The best this about it was that it has very few parts that are very easy to assemble, disassemble, and clean. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. I'm already looking for a new better one. I can't tell you how many times the top popped off well in the process of juicing or God forbid, if you just tapped it a tiny bit. Very annoying! It kept falling inside my freshly juiced juice. SMH. I'm giving it away to someone I don't like.

Quick and easy process
Assurian protection plans are worth it. Simplified process to get it handled. When my portable blender broke, I followed the process and they sent me an electronic gift card and that was very easy to redeem good customer service. I’ve also taken it on other items, but I haven’t had to use those yet.

protection plan is easy.
The protection plan worked on my coffee pot. It was just over 14 months and started to leak. I first called amazon and they sent me a link to the protection plan. It was very easy to use. I received a Amazon gift card instead of a replacement. The price of the coffee pot had increased so you will receive the lower option. I did receive the total cost of the pot at the time I purchased it.
