Finding the Flaws: Writing Dimensional, Dynamic CharactersAs a writer, one of the biggest temptations is to paint the perfect hero or heroine in our stories. This tends to happen naturally for so many of us because we want to create protagonists who are aspirational and awe inspiring. We spend so much time dialing in all of these amazing qualities that we forget something profoundly important. Life is messy and filled with messy people. If our stories are populated with perfect characters who get everything

As a writer, one of the biggest temptations is to paint the perfect hero or heroine in our stories. This tends to happen naturally for so many of us because we want to create protagonists who are aspirational and awe-inspiring. We spend so much time dialing in all of these amazing qualities that we forget something profoundly important.

Life is messy and filled with messy people.

If our stories are populated with perfect characters who get everything handed to them, they’ll make for rather boring reads. Because audiences want—no, need—flawed characters. Readers crave the imperfect, complicated protagonists who experience real growth and development across the span of a narrative.

Yes, we read to escape the chaos of our world. But a complex, flawed protagonist and cast of characters are what ground and anchor any narrative worth reading.

What You Will Learn:

  • Characterization dos and don’ts
  • How to flesh out imperfect characters
  • How to create character backstories
  • How to develop character mood boards
  • Why it’s smart to avoid describing your characters’ appearances
  • Tips on writing engaging dialog

Who Should Attend:

  • Writers who need a better understanding of the elements of writing, specifically the differences between round and flat characters
  • Writers who need help with pacing and characterization
  • Writers who need help with seeing their characters objectively
  • Writers who need help self-editing their protagonists and antagonists
  • Writers who simply want to put forward their best work

No replacement heads
Style: Sonic Toothbrush with 2 Heads
Update **** seller has made replacement heads at super affordable price. This toothbrush is really cute and great for small hands. The timer is only 45 to 50 seconds which is okay but I have to hit it twice to ensure a good brush for my 4 year old. This brand doesn't sell replacement heads for this product which is a bummer. It's not worth the money if you have to buy a whole new toothbrush after 3 months of use. I'd love to see replacement heads in the future!

U Shape Isn’t Great!
Style: Sonic Toothbrush with 2 Heads
Love boka toothpaste and I’ve seen ads for that auto brush so I got this for the u shape head. It sucks. It just vibrates doesn’t actually clean, and it’s silicone bristles not nylon. I had to use a lot of toothpaste to put in the u shape as well compared to a little dab on a brush. The handle is cute.

Super cute!
Style: Sonic Toothbrush with 2 Heads
This is a super cute toothbrush. My 3 year old loves using her "fruit brush". I wish there was another setting for even lower vibration.

On button doesnt work
Style: Sonic Toothbrush with 2 Heads
I cant return this product because it was opened by us to use which is the only way to know if it was defective of course but the button is so tiny and difficult to press to turn it on that my nor my husband who are both strong laborers were able to turn it on until about 20 tries later. The on/off button needs to be redesigned. Now we cant use it or return it, what a waste of $$.

My son loves it!
Style: Sonic Toothbrush with 2 Heads
We wanted to find a U shaped brush to mix in with brushing to help reach harder areas and he loves it so far. I was worried he wouldn’t want the whole mouthpiece to go in his mouth but it seems to be comfortable and he has no problems with it. The timer does seem to be off.
