Built on ARTPEC-9, this AI-powered block camera offers accelerated performance and lets you run impressive analytics applications on the edge. It’s possible to use your existing housing or upgrade to new housing, making it a more environmentally friendly option.
Superior image quality
AXIS Q1728 offers 4K resolution at 60 fps and features a large 1/1.2" sensor to ensure consistent performance even in low light. Thanks to Lightfinder 2.0 and Forensic WDR, it delivers true colors and great forensic detail in challenging light or near darkness. Axis Zipstream with support for AV1, H.264, and H.265 significantly lowers bandwidth and storage requirements. What’s more, it’s available in two variants with a choice of lenses: a wide (6-13 mm) lens with a 108°-49° horizontal field of view for surveillance in wide, open areas, and a tele (15-48 mm) lens with a 42°-13° horizontal field of view for great detail at long distances. Plus, the built-in lens with remote zoom and focus is perfectly calibrated to save you time and effort.

ARTPEC-9 refines the remarkable features and capabilities that characterized previous generations of our in-house-designed SoC: low bitrate, AI-powered analytics, superior imaging, and built-in cybersecurity. It also introduces AV1, an open-source video encoding standard from the Alliance for Open Media. With support for AV1 and enhanced image processing, ARTPEC-9 delivers high-quality video with uncompromised detail and clarity, and best-in-class bitrate. Together with Axis Zipstream, AV1 also ensures hassle-free video both on-prem and in the cloud. What’s more, ARTPEC-9 powers advanced analytics applications that detect objects earlier and analyze events more precisely.

Featuring a deep learning processing unit (DLPU), this AI-based camera lets you run advanced features and powerful analytics on the edge. It comes with AXIS Object Analytics preinstalled to detect, classify, track, and count humans, vehicles, and types of vehicles. With AXIS Image Health Analytics preinstalled, you’ll be notified if your image is blocked, degraded, under exposed, or redirected. In addition, AXIS Live Privacy Shield address-es privacy laws and regulations and offers AI-based dynamic masking so you can detect movement and activities while safeguarding privacy. Furthermore, Axis Edge Vault, a hardware-based cybersecurity plat-form, safeguards the device and offers FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified secure key storage and operations.
