Rachael Robinson Elmer, a talented artist of the early 20th century, was born in 1878 into the renowned Robinson family. Raised in a Quaker and abolitionist household, Rachael's artistic abilities were nurtured from an early age by her artist parents, Rowland E. Robinson and Ann Stevens Robinson.
At 14, Rachael embarked on a transformative journey to New York City, where she studied art at the prestigious Art Students League. Under the guidance of acclaimed painters such as Childe Hassam, her skills flourished, and she developed a unique artistic style.
In the early 1900s, Rachael created a series of captivating watercolor postcards featuring the Statue of Liberty.
