The Time Shadows II is a pedal designed to introduce some truly unruly, warped, Death By Audio wildness into your rig with that distinct refinement and nuance for which EarthQuaker is so known across their own library of effects. Coming together as a tag-team effect experience, the Time Shadows features a toggle with three distinct hemispheres of sound to click to and from.

The left side of the switch features EQD’s entry to this foray of frequencies – a pitch bent, fuzzy delay filter that lays waste to your signal in the most wonderfully warbling ways. Incorporating all at once a digital distortion, a polyphonic sub-octave and delayed envelope-controlled lowpass filter, the result brings your signal down to an underworld of rumbling, offset delay trails. The right, featuring DBA’s contribution to the equation, a multi-delay filter, resonates with true tonality for a sound that is both trademark DBA noisy and strikingly musical. A middle position to the Time Shadows II adds an extra frame through which to view this experience with characteristic EQD and DBA noisiness and open yet another pocket dimension of delayed filtering.

Additional functionality to the Time Shadows includes TRS expression capability to assign remote control over repeat time, repeat intensity or filter character. With this added functionality, so many new voices come to life through new effect interactions making for a wild, new experience at every turn of the dial. What’s more, classic EarthQuaker Devices internal wizardry comes to the surface on the Time Shadows with two operating modes: Live and Preset. Swapping between these two modes allows players to switch into their favorite programmable presets, assignable via the Save/Recall switch to six available slots, or play the pedal as normal with effect parameters correlating to their respective dial positions.
