ABOUT THIS ONDEMAND WEBINAR

Many people think their life, or a specific experience in their life, would make a great book. The challenge is that even people with the most fascinating lives usually can't write down their experiences in a way that makes a great book. And yet, some of the most brilliant, riveting novels are about ordinary people in ordinary situations. So how do you translate your real life experiences-common or uncommon-into a brilliant story?

In this presentation, Ivory Madison helps you develop your own roadmap to write, edit, and market your memoir. There is a formula for all great stories, and Madison shares with you what every successful novelist knows about a successful story arc and how you can apply it to your memoir while staying true to your life story. She also shares her foolproof editing method, now used by many writing coaches at Stanford Business School. You'll discover how to determine if the marketplace will respond favorably to a memoir like yours, and what to learn from the best-selling memoirs of all time.

Common questions and concerns about your memoir are answered. Madison helps you navigate issues like what to do when your mother wants to read it, and whether people can sue you over your portrayal of them.

No matter what stage your memoir is at, this presentation not only provides you with the tools to transform your idea into a successful book, it also offers the encouragement you need to follow through. This includes insights from the latest brain research explaining why writing about your past is a crucial tool for moving forward with your life in a positive way.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

  • How to build trust with readers by being completely honest
  • How to find your authentic voice and let it shine through
  • Tools to analyze your story so you know what's essential and what's superfluous
  • How to write real-life scenes to be as riveting as your favorite fiction
  • Why writing, editing, and marketing area separate activities and how to use this approach to get better results in all three stages of your project, plus a unique approach to necessary research
  • What type of memoir you're writing from a publisher's perspective and if they will want to publish it, plus pitfalls to avoid if you plan to self-publish
  • How to handle your inner critic, fear of embarrassment, and fear of not being believed

Normally amazing
Color: Spiky Ball (Blue, Orange), Size: Medium
We have purchased these slightly spiky dog balls several times for our very strong jaw heavy chewer dogs and they’ve been amazing. They don’t break down they don’t get torn apart the squeakers don’t even pop out of them. So we ordered another package because we’ve lost a few outside to the lawnmower… oops and the package that got delivered today had only one ball that squeaks and the other does not. THIS IS A PROBLEM ! Unfortunately my female dog got to the new squeaking ball first and my male got to the non-squeaking ball and he was NOT happy. Basically once they claim a ball it’s theirs and the other dogs don’t go near the ball they claimed. So he’s following my female around and every time she squeaks the ball and I’m just waiting for him to attempt to take it from her causing damage to her. Normally… These are amazingly fun, tough, durable but also squeaking balls (that’s rare in a tough ball) that my dogs absolutely love. This time just got a bad batch I guess. When they squeak the dogs LOVE them. After several months of play the squeaker might break inside of the ball but the ball never comes apart or gets damaged. And we as the owners love that they don’t break down are not able to be ripped or torn even by our very strong jawed and big jaw muscle dogs. They are also great for in the house play because they’re small enough that they fit completely inside our dog‘s mouth but obviously not small enough to get swallowed so when we throw them in the house for fetch the dogs can jump up and catch them fully in their mouth so they don’t cause any damage to the walls when they hit the walls. They’re not super heavy but they’re incredibly durable. Definitely worth the price especially if you have heavy chewers or big jaw muscle dogs.

Best fun indestructible toy
Color: Crinkle Duck (Yellow), Size: Large
Truly indestructible no matter how much our oittie tries. She has owned it for three months works at destroying every day with no success. She carries it everywhere. Best purchase for chewer, more fun than the popular rubber heavy duty toy. Do not hesitate your pup will thank you for this fun distraction.

My dog loves this toy!
Color: Bunny (Gray), Size: Large, Color: Bunny (Gray), Size: Large
High quality, big toy, perfect for a medium to large size dog. After a few months of serious chewing I had to buy another one, but well worth the money! Rocky loves it.

Great toy but if your dog is an aggressive chewer, please think twice.
Color: Crinkle Chicken (Brown), Size: Large
I received this on May 23rd and on June 8th, after playing with this thing every day, our recently acquired 36 lb dog finally ripped it open and got out all the plastic and the squeaky part. Lily Belle will miss you, chicken. Lily loooooved this toy! She'd toss it in the air, chew on it, pull it with her teeth etc. but as much as she loved it, we won't replace it. It's just not durable enough for her. If your dog is an aggressive chewer, you might want to try a different toy. I hate that this lasted just a smidge over two weeks because Lily seemed to truly enjoy this toy. RIP, squeaky chicken!

Great New Addition To The Nylabone Line - Perfect for Hard Core Chewers!
Flavor Name: Peanut Butter, Size: Large
We've been using and depending on Nylabone for decades. For more than 50 years these toys have been designed with the dog in mind - and to appeal to their natural instinct to chew and interact. Of course there are the occasional flops but they're few and far between. We have two Old English Bulldogs, a soon to be nine year old and soon to be two year old. I think out of what stands now at close to 600 reviews half have to be dedicated to dog toys and canine care products. After all, they are indeed family in every sense of the word and we indulge them with a constant parade of new toys. These new Marrow Barbell bones have been a huge hit. Both our boys have the jaw power to rip a the door off a Hummer and then proceed to shred the steel. Plush and soft toys are our of the question as those adorable little bunnies and chipmunks, even the ones promoted to hardcore chewers end up looking like road kill in the blur of an eye. The Barbell design is incredibly heavy and thick - believe me you don't want this one dropped on your foot. Elvis our youngest can do a significant amount of damage in one long term chew session, however after hours of relentless chomping the bone looks unscathed. Some nice touches are: * Very Thick casting of the Dura Chew material ( the strongest material made by Nylabone) * Textured nubs on the outside are superb for cleaning off tarter and keeping your best friends pearly whites and gums in great shape. * YThe Barbell design makes it easy for yor dog to carry around, providing of course he or she can lift it! So many fly by night companies cater to "aggressive chewers" and more than often we and our Bullies end up not only destroyed in record time - but can pose a choking hazard and other potentially serious problems. I've had dogs my entire life, over 50 years and I've learned that "Virtually Indestructible' is code for - if lasts an hour you're in luck. Some exceptions to the rule are Kong for hard core chewers, Planet orbee and of course Nylabone. We used Elk horn for a while until it fractured one of our dogs teeth, not good. Antler of any kind is far too hard a substance and fractured teeth can and do go un-noticed and can lead to infection and blood poisoning. On a brighter note, the Nylabone Dura Chew has enough give to prevent this - and great lasting power. We have tons of different shapes in the Dura Chew material including the Soupers, rings, Turkey legs and so on. They all hold up and the dogs adore them. Please note, these particular toys are for large breeds with powerful jaws and made especially for the tough, show no mercy, serial killer chewers - canine clients. And if that my fellow dog lovers fits your pooch you can't go wrong with the Barbell peanut butter Chew Toy. 5 Paws Up!
