This Fender Tony Franklin Fretless Bass is inspire by Tony's mastery of fretless bass, and work with luminaries like Roy Harper, the Firm, Blue Murder, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

Built to embody Franklin's style and robust, elastic tone, this bass guitar features a body, carved from select alder into the iconic Precision Bass silhouette with two deep cutaways, and a belly contour for added comfort. The front of the body features a gorgeous 4-ply, Black Moto pickguard.

Attached with a robust, 4-bolt neck plate featuring an engraving of Tony Franklin's signature, the neck of this P-Bass is carved from maple into Fender's Modern "C" profile, celebrated among bass players for being notably comfortable. The neck is topped with a single, continuous slab of ebony, uninterrupted by frets or inlays of any kind. This presentation of ebony is a stark reminder of why it's so commonly selected by manufacturers as a go-to choice for aesthetics, as the fingerboard's position inlays only exist as discrete side markers, visible when looking down at the neck from above. 

This bass is a standout for many reasons, but its pickup arrangement it certainly worth noting: a DiMarzio J DP123 in its bridge, and a Fender American Series Precision Bass pickup in its neck. These pickups are easily controlled by a three-way switching blade, and the control scheme features a master volume and master tone knobs, one specifically controlling each of the two pickups. 

The hardware found on this Tony Franklin takes this bass across home plate, including a 4-saddle American Vintage bridge with single-groove steel "barrel saddles, and vintage-style tuners with a Hipshot Bass Xtender drop-D tuner on the E string for quick tuning changes.

Finished in a striking gloss lacquer and accented with a matching painted headcap, this bass comes with an included black, vintage-style Fender hard case.
