_. Elements of the practice of physic. Part the II. Containing the history and methods of treating fevers and internal inflammations … The Second Edition, Corrected. London: Johnson and Payne. 1768.

[and with:]

DENMAN, Thomas. Essay on Puerperal Fever. London: J. Walter. 1773.

Three works in one vol., 8vo. Contemporary calf, gilt fillets border to boards, spine with raised bands and red morocco gilt lettering piece, edges stained blue; pp. [I:] 64; [II:] 136; [III:] 40; Denman lacks title page; hinges tender, extremities a little rubbed; light variable spotting, but overall very good; contemporary bookplate "B E W Manchester" to front pastedown.

First edition of first part of Fordyce, second edition of second part; second edition of Denman.

George Fordyce (1732-1802) was an eminent Scottish physician and eccentric, who always ate the same single meal everyday at four o'clock - a pound and a half of rump steak, plus half a chicken while it was being prepared. Perhaps unsurprisingly he died of gout. This book was used as a textbook for the lectures he gave at the Royal College of Physicians. Thomas Denman (1733-1815) was a specialist in obstetrics who made inducing premature labour in the case of narrow pelvis standard practice in Britain.

Second edition of second part of Fordyce especially rare, not in BL.

Excellent as Bird Feeders
Size: 12*3*2 Inches, Color: Black(2PCS)
Purchased these to sit on top of our trellis as bird feeders. The holes are large enough for zip ties and provide excellent aeration and drainage.

Good quality
Size: 9*3*2 Inches, Color: Grey(2PCS)
Unfortunately these did not work for me due to the shape (smaller at the bottom, which wasted space I needed). Looks like good quality.

Excellent wrist rest, BUT not for me
I'm rating this wrist rest 5 stars despite the fact that it's not for me. The reason that it is not for me is simple: My palms get very sweaty, and this makes my palms stick to the wrist rest, making it hard to move my hands around. This is an inherent limitation of the fact that it is made out of wood, and drove me to the 17" x 4" x 0.75" foam wrist rest from Grifiti instead. If you don't have sweaty palms, however, this wrist rest is perfect. It is 4 inches deep instead of the typical 3.1 inches, it is the perfect height and tapered just so for maximum comfort, the wood (Golden Oak color) is beautiful, and the engraved logo is tasteful and non-intrusive.
