DESCRIPTION: This stunning set of vintage British stoneware drink vessels is pure character and charm. With their gently worn patina and bold typography, they bring an authentic edge to any bar cart or tabletop display. The weight and texture of these highly collectible pieces speak to their craftsmanship, while the original cast iron screw tops—rare survivors—add a touch of industrial chic. Once used for ginger beer and ale in the 19th and early 20th centuries, these bottles now double as striking décor: think statement vases or stylish sill accents. Functional history meets modern design—heritage never looked so cool.

HISTORY: Stoneware bottles were widely used for beverages like ginger beer and ale during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Their sturdy construction suited carbonated drinks, while the glazed finish offered both hygiene and visual appeal. Many featured embossed names and locations, serving as functional containers and early advertising. Beaufoy & Co., a prominent London firm established in 1730, was renowned for cordials and ginger beer. The “Bourne Denby” mark links these bottles to the celebrated Derbyshire pottery, known for quality stoneware. This collaboration between a leading bottler and respected manufacturer makes these pieces highly desirable to collectors of historic beverage containers and industrial ceramics.

I had a real leather version of these shoes for many years. They are still totally wearable, however the soles have worn smooth from using them so much. so naturally I buy a new pair. These are the same design. the stitching is close, the pattern in the leather is the same. But they are so much cheaper. There is no real leather. It's all synthetic. The sole is not the same quality of rubber. The stitching is not as good. They look fine, brand new, yet I am sure they will not last. these are cheap. They also cost less, so I guess they are an average value, but I am very annoyed.
