The set comes elegantly packaged in a fine paper lidded box with the words E-rousoku ("floral painted candles") stamped in gold foil using a graceful Japanese typeface.

A tradition born in Tohoku, these floral candles were originally created as a substitute for fresh flowers during harsh winters, when blooms were scarce. Families placed them on home altars, keeping the spirit of the seasons alive indoors.
