When to Replace
- Original steel shoes are worn, bent, or have rusted through.
- To prevent damage to the auger housing or scraper bar from ground contact.
- When existing shoes are causing scratches or rust stains on clearing surfaces.
- After the current shoe has worn through on both of its reversible sides.
Installation Tips
- Ensure the snow blower is on a flat, level surface before installation.
- Adjust shoes to set the correct clearance height between the scraper bar and the ground. A common setting is 1/8 inch for smooth pavement.
- Verify that both shoes are set to the exact same height to ensure the auger housing remains level during operation.
- Periodically check and tighten mounting bolts as needed.
