This Marshall Super Lead 100w head and cabinet were built in 1972 in England making it part of the last documented area of hand-wired Super Lead models ('73 began the introduction of PCB construction for these models). Overall, the amplifier is in rough cosmetic condition, but this does not affect the functionality or sound of the amplifier/cabinet.

The head is missing the Marshall Logo, but still retains the original markings, serial number and control markings. This amplifier has been modified with a pre-phase inverter master volume means the amplifier's master volume section is pre-eq. Additionally over time the amplifier has needed repairs, some were done recently, other were done during its long history. Most recently the head has had all 3 preamp tubes replaced, installed a 3-prong grounded power cable, replaced the master volume mod potentiometer and knob, as well as cleaned all pots, jacks and biased the amplifier. Additionally, the main filter capacitors and the power transformer have been replaced. This repair was not done while the amplifier was in our possession.

Included is also the original 4x12 Speaker Cabinet from 1972 dated 1 month part from the Super Lead 100 Head. All 4 Celestion G12H speakers are original and still present in the cabinet. One of the speakers had a cone tear that has now been repaired. Overall, while this amplifier is not the most original example available, this Super Lead has mojo, functionality and an overall great sound. Though the power transformer and filter capacitors are non-original, this particular Super Lead sounds excellent and is a great representation of the classic Marshall sound with the added bonus of output volume control.

Good condition all around.

The head shows signs of heavy use, tolex rips are present throughout the chassis, some discoloration, rust and some non-original screws. The front Marshall logo is not present, but all of the original markings, serial numbers and control layout are legible and present.

The speaker cabinet is also missing the original Marshall logo, tolex rips around the cabinet and some tears in the original grill cloth.

Answers Many Questions about Naval Developments
Format: Hardcover
The history offers a detailed and well organized account of the Royal Navy as it transitioned from sail to steam. Coverage included personalities, technology, tactics and strategy. The combination provided a complete appreciation of the dynamics at play, some unexpectedly. The details might be a bit much for a casual reader but offered plenty of avenues for research not available or compiled in one source. I look forward to the final volume, which should describe another watershed era.

Great Book with a different perspective
Format: Hardcover
This will be a short review of a very long book. I ordered the book expecting more of a history of the British Navy, but this is more of a history of Britain with respect to its navy. It is still excellent and authoritative, just different than I expected. I really appreciate a somewhat different perspective than I have found in some other books. For example, any discussion of Jackie Fisher I have read previously seemed to border on the hagiographic, whereas here he seems to get a very evenhanded appraisal. A great book, highly recommended.
