REAMER INSTRUCTIONS:

Using a reamer, rather than a standard drill bit, to drill out your knuckles or your Pitman arm, from a tapered hole to a straight hole is very easy with this bit. It keeps the bit from grabbing and jerking the drill as much. You still need a firm grip and keep the drill straight, but with your average 1/2 cordless drill or better this should be an easy job.

We recommend starting with the knuckles, and finishing with the pitman, because the knuckles are almost always a much softer material then a hardened pitman arm.
We find it easier to start with the smaller end of the hole on your part to be drilled rather than fitting the bit in the existing taper, but either way can work.
Use the bit at a medium to low speed. High speed can work, but it’s easy to tear the bed up with too much heat.
Keep the bit square and perpendicular to the surface you are drilling so it’s straight and true.
If you mess it up a little and it’s crooked, just do what it takes to straighten it because it is not absolutely necessary to have a super true fit to the bolt through the knuckle. Bolt tension will hold it in place.

Having issues drilling?
Yes, in many of our videos or directions, I do explain that the knuckles are soft and easy to drill and that Pitman arm is much harder material. It is common for someone to want to take it off the truck and put it in a drill press to accomplish this however, I almost never do. With a little slower RPM It’s not a problem.
I have never had to use more than one bit on a truck so I would assume you are hurting your reamer with speed and temperature.

What a fantastic product. You would not be unsatisfied buying this Thermometer. It’s quick and accurate. I’ve been using it for about a year now and completely recommend it for pros and amateurs.

Very handy and capable thermometer for measuring internal temps of cooking meat
Size: 6.5"
A very-fast (and I think accurate) thermometer for tracking internal temps of cooking meat to insure doneness and that your meat is cooked to a safe temp. The sharp point of the probe slides into dense meats with ease. I have found this a very helpful accessory for frying and slow-cooking meats. It's display is VERY easy to read, even outdoors in bright light, or indoors in dimmer light. Haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life, though in two months, and almost daily use, no sign yet of needing a recharge.

High quality, fast reading, easy to use
This is a very nice product. It works as advertised. It appears to be reasonably well made too. I'd give it 5 stars, but I have a few gripes that force me to subtract 1 star: 1) Price. While it appears to be pretty well made and is quite attractive in appearance, it doesn't quite have the feel and heft of a $109 gadget. It is at least twice the price of any other pro-level, instant-read thermometer available on Amazon. Hopefully it will provide years of accurate, durable, reliable use, befitting of its hefty price tag. 2) The screw on the battery compartment cover gave me fits. It took a little more elbow grease than I expected to get it to turn, making me more than a bit concerned that I might strip the screw. 3) The "Careful it's sharp" warning label affixed to the probe itself was practically *glued* on. I had to carefully use a razor blade to get it off, and even then, there was a lot of residual adhesive and bits of the label stuck to the probe--and under my thumbnail too! I had to take out my Goo Gone adhesive remover to clean the probe of the adhesive and leftover bits of label, and also to extract the crap out from under my thumbnail...these are NOT steps I wanted or needed to take to put this thing into service! Jeez! Anyway, I'll update this review after I get a few months of use out of the Typhur InstaProbe.

Well worth the money
Size: 6.5"
Bad Ass! Finally a meat probe that actually works well and fast, it reads instantly and is so easy to read the screen even in the sun. All the other ones I bought never lasted and this one is tuff as nails and has already out lasted all the other ones combined. This is proof of you get what you pay for! The one thing you gotta watch out for is the probe can read the the heat that rises from the bottom of the grill as you move it towards the meat you wanna check because it reads that quick and that’s not a negative comment, just letting you know! Go get ya one!

Very satisfied with this frother
This is the best frother I have bought so far. It works fast and is easy to use having the control button on the top (where I always thought it should be)! I even appreciate the stand that doesn’t tip over easily.
