The matriarch of Maton Guitars and the wife of founder Bill May, Vera May, turns 100. To celebrate, Maton released one of the most beautiful guitars they've ever produced. This new guitar is not only a superb instrument, but also a very special part of Maton’s story.

The 808 sized body is bound with ebony and inner pinstripe bindings. The rosette has been carefully designed to match, also featuring ebony and pinstripe rings.

The soundboard of the Vera May is made from Lutz Spruce, a naturally occurring hybrid of Sitka Spruce and White Spruce (a close relative of Engelman Spruce). As often occurs with natural hybrids, Lutz has a certain amount of “hybrid vigour”, combining the best elements of both trees. The result is a soundboard with the stiffness of Sitka but with a little less density. This results in a greater balance of subtle overtones which is a delightful combination in a smaller bodied guitar like the Vera May.

The blackwood back, sides and neck are finished in Maton's special tuned satin finish, providing all the warmth and midrange that the Maton 808 series is famous for.

The fingerboard and bridge are made from streaky ebony, a material Maton has come to love for its strength, stability and tone as well as its earthy beauty. The fingerboard features snowflake inlays and a 12th fret Vera May signature block inlay .

The Vera May also comes with an AP5 Pro pickup system and case. The first 100 Guitars will come with a limited edition Ivory Hiscox Travel Case, and label hand signed by Vera May, celebrating her 100th Birthday!

Lasts long and helps a ton!
The bottle of shampoo has lasted me about two months (I shampoo everyday). I have scalp psoriasis in patches on my scalp and behind+on my ears and I will say this does help in breaking up the patches with scrubbing. I usually let it sit while I wash my body and then once I rinse my hair I will rub the patches behind my ears and they will just roll up and come off. It's really soothing and doesn't smell AT ALL. I don't see a complete clear up of my psoriasis but it helps in the process of keeping a clear scalp. I use a mometosone furoate cream or topical hydrocordisone on my patches when I have bad days and that plus this shampoo is as good as I've ever felt about my scalp. If you're looking for a cure, don't buy this because that's not what this is and you'll feel you've wasted your money. If you want something that will give results of ANY kind because you have run out of other options, spend the few extra dollars and try this. As a side note, this foams up great if you apply UNDER you hair instead of right on top. It's harder to spread if you put it directly to the top of your head. I've also found that it has lasted over 2 months (good for the amount you get) at about a quarter size each wash. I also only use the conditioner when I feel my hair is super dry or needs a boost as I have naturally oily hair (hence the wash every day) and have only used about half the bottle in the 2 months I've had it. I'll be sticking with this brand for now!

I’m so disgusted and disappointed. I started having issues with build-up & dandruff again, so I ordered a new bottle, remembering how well this used to work for clarifying & healing my scalp. After using it for about 6 weeks the buildup was better, but I had all these swollen, raised areas all over my scalp that were extremely itchy. I figured it was seborrheic dermatitis taking a long time to clear up. Of course, I scrubbed those areas extra well (insert face-palm here). I have an old bottle of it at my parents’ house that I used over Christmas, and I was both flake and itch free. When I came home it started up again, and I noticed my hands were also breaking out again really severely as well. I now know to suspect my personal products. Naturally I went for the non-allergy friendly brands whose ingredients change on a whim first. Nothing. Finally grabbed the shampoo, thinking that couldn’t possibly be it— and to my shock and amazement, it IS. They don’t even try to hide it with different nomenclature. I’d take a picture to show you how badly this tears up my hands, but I literally just got them calmed back down with steroid cream so the visual effect isn’t as impressive. This makes me want to stop using all of their products, which I’ve depended upon rather heavily because of my allergies & sensitivities. I’ve been using various products from Puriya for YEARS because of it being allergy friendly. I’ve even recommended their products to our patients at my natural health practice. We even considered getting a wholesale account to carry them. Now I don’t feel like I can trust ANY of their products.
