King Hammond is Nick Welsh. He is a musician, producer, and songwriter from the United Kingdom. He is by far one of the most prolific ska/reggae musicians on either side of the pond, his resume includes PRINCE BUSTER, LAUREL AITKEN, DAVE BARKER, RICO RODRIGUEZ, and JUDGE DREAD. Nick also played on LEE 'SCRATCH' PERRY'S Grammy Award winning album "Jamaican ET'. As a bassist and song writer in BAD MANNERS and THE SELECTER, he was integral to both band's post 2-TONE success. Nick Welsh went to school with BUSTER BLOODVESSEL, Louis Cook, and Paul Hyman from the original line up of BAD MANNERS. In 1986 Nick played his first gig with BAD MANNERS, shortly after he formed BUSTERS ALL STARS with Mr. Bloodvessel while BAD MANNERS was on a short "break". The two acts combined in 1988 resulting in the BAD MANNERS album 'Eat The Beat' - five of that album's top tracks later appeared on "Return of The Ugly" which fueled the reformed band's worldwide comeback tour. While all of this was in play, BUSTERS ALL STARS released the legendary "Skinhead Luv-Affair" album and King Hammond released "Revolution '70". Fast forward 23 years, JUMP UP kicked out "Floorshaker!" - a collection of crisp and addictive skinhead reggae that pays homage to the originals that inspired them. But of course, that wasn't enough. Fans demanded more. "THE BEAT IS BLUE" was born. Recorded in 60's British Blue Beat style, these songs are a throwback to the heyday of the label who made household names of LAUREL AITKEN and PRINCE BUSTER. BLUE BEAT recordings were often recorded in London with well known musicians such as GEORGIE FAME and EZZ RECO, creating a distinctly British take on Jamaican SKA. In addition to appealing to the West Indian community in the UK, BLUE BEAT was played alongside soul sides at Northern clubs and became associated with the British Mods and skinheads of the mid to late 60s. King Hammond'S SKA TAKES LONDON ONCE AGAIN- AND THE BEAT IS BLUE!

the BEST BOOK EVER to learn what autism feels like
Format: Hardcover
I have read just about every book ever written (in English) related to autism -- well over 700 of them. This is the best book that communicates what autism feels like, and our life experiences. I'm decades older than the audience the book is intended for; but EVERYONE should read this book to understand we who are different. It also points out several well-known facts: autism has some heredity trails, having just one trusted adult who treats the different child like they are valuable is key to that child being able to cope with the world around them. What surprised me was when an educator with over 25 years of experience in special ed, just did not think the book was that good. That convinced me of the book's unique value: it truly puts the reader in the body and mind of the different child. Some educators cannot do that. The story focuses upon a female -- so not sure how applicable it is to a male different child. I hope some others would test that out. The BEST BOOK EVER to understand what autism feels like. I know as I have been on the autism spectrum since before there was an autism spectrum.

Fantastic read
Format: Hardcover
Read as part of upper elementary book club with 4th and 5th graders. Told entirely in prose from the point of view of a 7th grade girl struggling with changing social dynamics and self-identity, we see Selah learn to advocate for herself amidst family and school challenges. This book made me laugh and cry, but more than anything, it made me cheer Selah on as she discovers what autism means for her.

Fun educational book
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
This book is a big hit! My 5 year old son and I read it so many times since we ordered this in April. It has cute illustration and 60 flaps and pop-ups which make the book even more exciting. And because of this, I don’t recommend this book to young kids under 3 though. Some flaps might be tricky for younger kids. Even I as a parent learned so much about construction.
