One of the most noticeable sexual dimorphisms in the CW111 Vulcan Cory (Hoplisoma sp.) is the male’s larger dorsal fin. The male’s pronounced dorsal fin becomes especially noticeable as they mature and can be a key indicator when attempting to sex this species. In well-conditioned specimens, the dorsal fin may appear more extended and dramatic compared to females.
