Overview
Under the aegis of discerning patrons such as Francis I, Henri II, and Catherine de’ Medici, France developed a rich artistic vocabulary dominated by elongated figures, inventive decorative motifs, and intriguing subject matter. The frequently ephemeral nature of artistic production during this period, along with losses engendered by time and events like the French Revolution, has meant that this is a period still flush with rewarding investigative possibilities.
The volume’s contributors explore different aspects of the extant material record and how it was shaped, at times by radical changes in the social and political climate, focusing particularly on works of art in American collections, thus helping to widen the scope of research carried out in France. Several authors provide exciting new attributions, bringing greater understanding to the careers of artists such as Baptiste Pellerin and the two Cousin, père et fils. The enduring appeal of French Renaissance aesthetics is also explored here, attesting to the visual vibrancy of this distinctive period in France’s history.

Praise
Exhaustively researched and impeccably written, this collection celebrates a scholar of unparalleled brilliance and generosity. In pathfinding essays drawing on art history, anthropology, and early modern culture, the authors honour at once the range and depth of Colin Eisler’s work on the Renaissance and its legacy here and now. The volume will be an enduring point of reference.” — Tom Conley, Harvard University

“This collection of high-quality articles dedicated to Colin Eisler is a welcomed contribution to scholarship on French Renaissance art. It will not only please his many admirers, but also contribute significantly to the study of both the major and the decorative arts of early modern France.” — Pierre Rosenberg, Musée du Louvre

“This collection exposes those of us unable to benefit directly from Professor Eisler’s teaching to a demonstration of what the mentorship of someone with such wide-ranging interests and a laser-like focus on good scholarship can produce.” — Sheila Ffolliott, George Mason University

Great moisturizer for everyday use
Size: 19 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I’ve been using this CeraVe product for several weeks and I’m very happy with the results. It keeps my skin hydrated all day without feeling greasy or heavy. The texture is smooth, absorbs quickly, and works well under makeup. I also appreciate that it’s fragrance-free and gentle on sensitive skin. My skin feels softer, healthier, and less dry since I started using it. The value for the price is excellent, and I will definitely repurchase. Highly recommended!

It's not glamorous but it works wonders - even while I am on Accutane!
Size: 19 Ounce (Pack of 1)
This is the best, most luxurious lotion I have ever used. And the only lotion that I can even stand to be on my skin. I started Accutane (for acne) last year and was told that my skin would dry out horribly and that I needed to find a good moisturizer to limit the peeling and cracking that I would inevitably experience. Prior to the medicine my skin was oily and very acne prone and every lotion that I had tried either made me feel like I was wearing a latex suit or broke me out horribly. After doing some research I read that this was a great solution and figured I would give it a try. I started it out right away to try to avoid getting dry and was shocked at how well it worked. Even at the beginning when I was still oily this lotion never felt too heavy. Now don't get me wrong-it goes on like frosting and initially feels like a lot-but within minutes it soaks in and leaves your skin feeling like a little kids (not the sticky kind of little kid though-the good clean little kids with undamaged skin). It will last for days too. No need to reapply because it has soaked in to your skin and doesn't just sit on the surface. My skin has never been this soft. And here I am, nearly 9 months in to my Accutane medication regimen and I am not flaking or peeling. In fact, my skin has never looked better or more healthy. My doctors are shocked at how my skin has stayed moisturized because nearly everyone peels. And it doesn't break you out which is obviously something super important. Now, could I be an anomoly? Maybe, but I don't think so. I honestly think this lotion is Just. That. Good! The price isn't bad either!

At this rate, I'm leaving this to my kids in my will
Size: 19 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Ten months in and I have barely made a dent in this tub. I am genuinely starting to consider my options — mixing it into smoothies, using it as a cooking fat, applying it to every surface in the house. Something has to be done because at the current rate of consumption this container will outlive me. In all seriousness, the value proposition here is almost absurd. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is a legitimately great product — dermatologist recommended, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, fragrance free, non-comedogenic, works on face and body, gentle enough for sensitive skin. It does everything a moisturizer should do without irritating your skin or smelling like you bathed in a candle. The 19oz tub is the right call if you actually plan to use moisturizer regularly. A little goes a long way, which is both the best and most frustrating thing about it. Best because you're getting incredible value per ounce. Frustrating because you will be looking at this same tub for the foreseeable future with no end in sight. Great product, generational quantity. Buy it once, pass it down. One star deducted because I now have to figure out what to do with the remaining 18.5 ounces.

Switched from luxury brands and never looked back!
Size: 19 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I used to spend way too much on high end body moisturizers thinking the price meant better results. Tried CeraVe on a whim and realized I was paying for packaging and fragrance this whole time. This does more for my skin than anything I used before. I use it daily all over my body after showering and my skin stays soft the entire day. No irritation ever. The formula is so gentle that I forget I'm even wearing anything. No fragrance, no stinging, no breakouts. Just clean hydration. If you have sensitive skin and you're nervous about trying something new, this is about as safe as it gets. The 19 oz tub lasts a long time even with daily full body use. Ceramides and hyaluronic acid at this price point is honestly ridiculous value. Save your money on the luxury stuff and just get this.
