This is another nice, small half-log bowl blank from Texas Green Ash. The color is a soft brown, both heartwood and sapwood, with a thin section of mottled grey bark on the backside.
This blank will work well for a conventional bowl, and with full and tight bark, especially well for a natural-edge bowl. The log section halved to produce this blank was cut thru the pith and most has been removed. What remains is tight and I see no pith-related radial cracks or any other structural flaws.
